Time to call out the Big Guns.
Some of you have heard thru FReepmail that a week and a half ago a mass was found during a routine chest X-Ray. 2 days later they did a CT Scan. Yesterday I had a Biopsy done. I just got off the phone with my Doctor.
I have cancer.
Specifically, Adenocarcinoma. More tests need to be done to determine the stage and if it is just the one tumor or if it has spread.
Please include me in your Prayers that this can be treated. The most powerful weapon I can employ in this fight is Prayer.
Thank you for your wonderful testimony. We’ll be praying for you as well. A friend of mine underwent chemo for breast cancer and with all the prayers she received, the cancer is gone! Don’t give up. Mary
Continued prayers.
God bless you on your journey. Your story is inspirational.
Prayers that today brought any blessings.
First off, I want to publicly thank BykrBayb for both developing a ping list and for pinging everyone yesterday. I am in your debt.
Today I met both the Oncologist and the Surgeon. From the X-Rays and the CT Scan it looks contained to the one lump. There is no way to know for sure until it is removed and sent to Pathology.
I am being scheduled for a Cardiac Stress Test to see if my ticker is strong enough for the operation. Also I am being scheduled for a PET Scan to see if there is any other cancer hiding somewhere else in this old bod.
The proposed plan is to remove the upper lobe of my right lung and the associated lymph nodes sometime in the next week or two. Depending on the Pathology reports, Chemo and Radiation might be needed.
We had a rather intense discussion on the need to remove the whole lobe vs a wedge section of the lobe. Apparently there is a sizable difference in survival rates. I have some (well, a lot) concern on how this will affect my ability to breathe. I am already on home oxygen part time. I am not thrilled about the possibility of going on oxygen full time.
Prayers continue for you, my friend. FWIW, I’d rather have you around on oxygen full time than not have you around at all.
We still need your quick wit and astute commentary.
Prayers continue. Hang in there, and I hope you are better soon.
Prayers yer days are easy and the medical community is kind to you and your friends and family stand buy you when you need them most.
God Bless Sir.....
Thank you for keeping us informed. Prayers continue...
You must have a lot on your mind, after a day like this. Keeping you in prayers as you go through this day by day. Praying that the wait time goes smooth and easy, for your comfort and peace, for your health and recovery.
Hang in there. My wife was on full time oxygen after cancer surgery and is now fully mobile, no assistance necessary. Things can get better. We’re pulling for you.
Dear Petruchio, thanks for the update. All of us will keep you in our prayers.
Hebrews 3:13 “Encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called Today.”
Galatians 6:2 “Bear ye one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
Please keep the update pings coming. We’re all pulling for a complete recovery for you! : )
God Bless you.
Every day is a good day.
I will continue to pray for you.
God Bless You and heal you.
Thanks for the update. Keep the faith up - you got hundreds praying for you.
Cross one bridge at a time, FRiend, and remember, He knows what He is doing.
Prayers on the way.
Thank you for letting us know, and will say an extra prayer that the pathology report will show it was isolated. I know it’s frustrating having to adapt to new breathing apparatus— have a similar situation in our family.
I will also pray that God will give the Docs the knowledge and tools to get everything done correctly..and in a timely manner.
Petruchio, I’m pinging Logan’s Prayer Warriors...in my NEVER so humble opinion....they are The Best Out There!
We love you...we’re praying that the Lord heals you, that He gives you His peace...that he guides your medical team...
God’s richest blessings...
Prayers that our Dear Lord’s merciful comfort and healing be abundantly present for you. He is ever near, ever caring for and loving you. May He bless your medical team with wisdom and skill.
