What if those of us who are old enough to not give a crap how we look or if people stare start wearing surgical masks in grocery stores and other public places? Kids will ask questions and we will have the chance to answer. Others may think we know something that they don’t. And who knows, we may start a trend and look like main street Japan or China in a few months. How much would that embarrass jack ass in chief?

One more thing... I read early yesterday when I started reading some of these articles a post that said one of the first identified victims of this disease that died was a Pakistani (can't remember if he was a tourist, or lived there, or what...). That could mean something, or nothing, but if anyone knows the article or post I'm talking about, could they send me, or post the link to it, please? :)

These viruses are strands of RNA that attach themselves to other RNA strands, including those that come from dividing DNA molucules. The trick is to create binding points on the avian flu or swine flu virus that will link up to complimentary points on the human influenza virus. Then though recombinations of these strands, come up with a hybrid that is as easily tramsmitted as the human flu but has the damaging characteristics of thw swine flu.

Mexico certainly has a lot of reason to say felipe did not have swine flu... so I really don’t trust reports that say he didn’t have it..

2 people admitted to a Scottish hospital after returning from Mexico
have been confirmed as the 1st British cases of swine flu. Scottish
Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon said both patients, a man and a
woman, were recovering well. She said 7 other people who had been in
contact with them were now displaying mild symptoms. Both the Scottish
patients were from the Forth Valley area of central Scotland. The
pair, who had been traveling together, returned from Mexico on 21 Apr
2009.

UK probes ‘17 swine flu reports’. There have also been cases of swine
flu reported in Canada and a suspected case in France. Swine flu is
usually found in pigs and contracted only by people in contact with
the animals.

Some reports say as many as 149 people may have died from swine flu,
but WHO officials put the figure much lower and said only about 20 of
the deaths could be definitely attributed to swine flu.
