I pray to GOD there will still be elections in 2010. Then again with ACORN having MILLIONS and the suits against their voter fraud being DROPPED — will ANY election even MATTER??? Remember, Saddam always loved a good election.

The SILENCE from the GOP over all these issues speaks VOLUMES. Instead of attacking Obama they are PLEADING with Conservatives not to align with a 3rd party, or telling us we need to give up our religious beliefs or we’ll “lose again” (where have I heard that before — but we NEED a RINO/Centrist to win! How did THAT work?).

SERIOUSLY — is there ANYONE among our elected officials currently in power in Washington — ANYONE with enough STATESMANSHIP to say ANYTHING anymore? It’s like a big game to them... I don’t care what letter they have behind their name at this point — show me ONE PERSON (no, not Dr. Paul because unfortunately he’s already been vilified by Conservatives AND Liberals) — show me ONE PERSON who has CONSISTENTLY, and LOUDLY stood up against these actions of the last few months no matter WHAT it may mean to their political career!

I agree with your post completely. Nothing more to add.

I don’t believe you will get an answer to your question asking what ONE PERSON can and deserves to stand up and deserve the true conservative vote. No one has the standing or the guts.

Praying for God to have mercy on me and my country.

The current Republican Party is equivalent to the "start and park" participants at NASCAR. They (the Republicans) get they posh offices, large salaries, perks, travel, and lifetime full pay pensions, whether they perform or not. It doesn't matter to them what happens to the rest of us as long as "they" are taken care of. They just need to get elected and sit on their butts (or kiss Pelosi's) until the next election, where they will promtply lie and deceive the voters, who will buy it and re-elect them.

As long as more than 50% of the American electorate receive gubmint goodies (Social Security, Gubmint jobs, Welfare, un-Earned Income Credits, Union payoffs, Community dis-Organizers, etc.) no one who advocates a return to the Republic form of government our country was founded on will succeed. The days of using our vote to stop the charge to socialism are over. Our political process is permanently broken. The elections of 2010 will prove it.

If I am wrong, I will praise the Lord, since it will be only through Him that we pass through this era in our history without another Civil War.

Yes, that's the problem. There's a HUGE leadership deficit in the GOP right now. We live in a time when the Republican party is thin in the bench. Good people are out there, but they're all a little green. Palin has enormous natural gifts, but I wish she would withdraw from the spotlight for a while and develop her resume. Inspiration can only take you so far. She needs more concrete accomplishments. Jindal also has a big upside: very bright (almost wonkie), articulate, etc. He just doesn't have the experience yet. So, we're a bit like lost sheep without a shephard as the Biblical idiom puts it. Grassroots enthusiasm is great, but eventually there there will have to be leaders who take charge. There isn't much we can do until the 40ish age group wins its spurs. In the meantime we'll have to go to elections with the leaders we have, to paraphrase Rumsfeld.

There really does seem to be some sort of generational/cultural shift unfolding. The GOP of Ronald Reagan--and post-WW II conservativism in general--is no more. The spiritual children of Bill Ayers gave us Obama. You've got to wonder if the cohort ages 21-35 will ever understand conservatism. Right now there is an enormous hunger out there for conservative leadership among the 35-50 set, but there aren't any viable trustworthy Republicans. We're going to have to make our peace with this for the next couple of cycles until a solid GOPer emerges. I hope Zero doesn't ruin the country in the meantime.
