We have a nation here. It is going through problems right now. And it bothers me some of the tactics that are being used in reaction to those problems.

I live in California. California has problems. And because of those problems many of my fellow citizens moved out of the state. I don’t want people to take this personally, but isn’t that cutting and running? Is that how we turn things around? Hell no.

When people run from problems, those problems flourish. And when one state goes south, it affects other states.

Right now we have talk of states pulling out of the union. Is that really what we have come to? Is that really the future we see for our beloved nation, surrendering vast areas of our nation to our enemies?

Whatever happened to preaching our values to the American Citizen and winning them back over? Whatever happened to telling the public education system it isn’t going to propagandize our children on our tax dollars? Whatever happened to telling the government that it isn’t going to get away with flood groups like ACORN with our tax dollars so they can carry out political activity? Whatever happened to demanding, not asking that our rights be respected?

What bothers me, is that we are backing ourselves into a corner by choice, making smaller the base of our operations. Is that really what our goal should be?

Folks, our founding fathers didn’t pick one state and defend it. They worked within the full thirteen colonies and defended the whole rather than surrender to a superior force?

What is the cut and run stuff? What is the secession stuff?

Surrender? No way...

But you assume we can take this country back. We can’t.

Too much voter fraud and socialist control of information.

Time to withdraw and allow the enemy to consume itself.

Who is John Galt?

The problem is the federal government has become an oppressive leviathan - much of it unconstitutional. How do you fight that when this growth is even supported by many states and is further supported by the media?

During the nationwide tea party yesterday, where tax paying citizens peaceably assembled to voice their concerns with this very growth and abuse by the .gov, they were mocked by their government, mocked by their elected leaders and mocked by the media.

Eloquent and heart-breaking post DO. However, I will not lay the blame at the feet of the Fed Gov being oppressive, etc., as others have. Rather, I would sadly say that when two peoples find themselves SO diametrically opposed to one another in their inherent, heart-felt beliefs, how can they ever reconcile to unite behind a direction for their future.

Or to put it another way: If 9-11 only managed to unite us for about 6mos before we were tearing at each other, what possibly could ever bring us together again? As such, perhaps it is better if we part as amicably as possible.

“I don’t want people to take this personally, but isn’t that cutting and running? “

Nope, it is called “choice”. When the majority of people vote for stuff you don’t like then you can leave. If they don’t like you leaving then they can stop voting for what made you leave.

Sorry, that ended when the Federal Gov. decided NOT to enforce immigration laws therefore importing socialism. You now have to preach to NON-American Citizens. If they can vote themselves more money, they will, they did. Here we are.

I agree with your sentiments. Secession isn't the answer. I don't know what is, though.

Patterns of migration has a lot to do with what's going on now. Once people moved to California from Ohio or Iowa or Arkansas or Oklahoma, and made the state more like the Midwest or the Southwest. You don't have that happening any more. In fact those Californians who leave are making the neighboring states more like California.
