I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.
I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.
Please give the location and number of participants.
I'll go first:
Melbourne, FL - 1000.
Portland Oregon 3500
Beaverton Oregon 400-500
Morgan City, Louisiana - 150+
http://www.iberianet.com/articles/2009/04/16/news/doc49e777a6071a9802114184.txt
More than 150 people gathered in front of New Iberias City Hall at noon, many holding handmade signs reading things like Bailout debt = fiscal child abuse, We the people want our money and RIP free market economy.
Awesome work!!
Per KS locale board, there was one in Pittsburg, KS, but I don’t have an attendence number. I am waiting to hear back from Freeper, Labette. I think it is safe to estimate atleast 250 for now (probably extra conservative estimate).

Opelousas, Louisiana - 50

The crowd of about 50 carried American flags and hand-made signs with messages such as “socialism is not the change we need,” “taxation without representation” and “don’t rob our children of their freedom.”
Ping. If anyone on our list has numbers to add or correct, here’s the thread to chime in on.

Correction on post 622. That should be New Iberia instead of Morgan City.

We had about 1000-1200 at US 41 and Pine Ridge in Naples Florida ... According a friend who attended.
And more than 2500 in Ft Meyers where we were. They gave out 2500 signature cards, but I think after getting a good view there were probably 3000+ people there.
