Yes, I understand the jurusdictional aspects of the FBI in piracy cases, But who has the equipment and is on the scene of indirdiction. Its always the US Navy and the Coastguard, and they are military arms of government.

The fact is that the FBI has only an investigatory role, usually after the facts in issue have occurred. In this case the US Navy was required to wait until the FBI was on the scene of interdiction. That IS ATTROCIOUS.And a risk threat to the personnel involved.

Secondly it prevented a military solution to rounding up ALL the pirates who were being lured to the location outside of "Somalia territorial waters." This was a missed opportunity. Its outrageous.

This "victory" saved the life of one man.BUT we could have rounded up a mass of pirates, and secured hostages from many nations. But of course, the "progessive" point of view excludes that possibility. The "progressive" point of view is sick, Wool Gathering.

This was a domestic victory, when it could have been a strategic one. Funny that so many people ignore this fact. The USS Boxer had the means with associate vessels to act uilaterally and complete a job that screamed to be done. But Zero was not listening. Why? Maybe to many pirates are Luo, Zero's paternal tribe?

Au contrare my friend! The "spin" as you describe it is all being directed by The One's minions in the White House and media. You must remember that The False Messiah wants to please not us, but everyone else. He adores the celebrity and limelight of his current position more than anything else. All you had to do is observe him during his campaign to know that public adoration is a narcotic to him. He tilts his head slightly, assumes that glow of confidence and then commences to mouth the most inane remarks any rational person can conceive. He's lost in the radiant afterglow of his audience of flapping penguins and it's why so much is made of him being a dolt without the assistance of a teleprompter. He is the ultimate appeasor wanting to be all things to all people and in the bargain is an unprincipled ass.

I firmly believe that he vacillated endlessly in the hope that these nickel and dime punkasses would surrender and ONLY WHEN the risk of them making some unanticipated aggressive move against the captain weighed against him (Obama..., which his advisors would have been sweating about and whispering their concerns to him over) did he move and authorize them to take out the pirates. Not because it was the right thing to do. Not because the Navy had secured a towline and maneuvered them close. ONLY BECAUSE of the fact that if they killed the captain, Obama would have been toasted and roasted in the world press for having missed so many chances to kill the pirates. THAT is the only reason he finally acted.

This is a bit off-topic, but not off-target. Please go here:

In the spirit of the Tea Party I ask you all to join this additional effort to THROW ALL THE BUMS OUT in 2010. It's done in the form of a petition demanding that Obama resign.

Sign and support an agenda to take back our government and Nation as one of, by and for the people next November. A good friend initiated this petition and we need it to spread and "get legs" to compliment the Tea Party and other efforts that rally CROSS-POLITCAL-SPECTRUM support against him and those that empower him.

I completely agree. I think it was an admiral. I think he used the term “unfortunate.”

We should keep a running clock counting down the seconds to the end of Obama’s first and only term.
