Supposedly the good guys are unarmed because they can’t dock in foreign countries with arms on board. Sounds like there’s an entrepreneurial opportunity here for someone who will load up the merchant ships with arms as they leave port and collect the arms before they dock.

They are armed. Navy ships are virtual floating armories. In this case only the smallest weapons in the arsenal was needed.
