Listened this morning. He’s on fire. Did he ever call Schmuckie out or what! Wish I could go to the breakfast tomorrow morning. You going to the April 15, protest? I can’t, but will be there the 18th with my little bro.

Yes I have a 401K, and the first 6% is matched by a greedy corporation - I love it.

I thought that was a really good call. The caller even had Rush backing away from his whole “Talent on loan from God” thing as if suddenly Rush’s talent is his own now.

RUSH! the man worked 20 years toward that pension and they pulled the rug out 4 months from the finish line! That happens a lot and it even happens to people in unions. It happened to my mother in law and she was a Teamster.

There are a lot of reasons corporations lay folks off, ROF (reduction of force), theft, gross negligence, and incompetence are but a few.
If this man was indeed laid off 4 months before pension, he could go to court for redress and probably win.

Life is risky business, but I dont condone screwing any one.
IMHO companys like GM agreed to give certain benefits and then claim they didnt see the unsustainable costs coming and they shift the screwing to the line worker who they claim should have known the program was unsustainable.
Oh! so the financial experts never saw it coming but Joe lunchpail should have known better?
It is like the 401ks that they are telling us ARE our ONLY option for retirement johnny lunchpail is supposed to be an expert at market management while fund managers screw up and lose billions.
Am I to believe that these people moving the money are just as dumb as the average schlub?
There ARE shenanigans going on and The Gubmint just fleeced all of us to the tune of trillions.
I HATE being beholden to any one!

I think one of the caller's points that he was trying to make is that the GE company execs AGREED to the lifetime pensions and medical care that retirees are getting....a total sum that is driving the company into possible bankruptcy.
Therefore, his reasoning is that the company management at that time is ALSO responsible for the present financial woes, not soley the responsibility of the union.
However, he didn't get much chance to expound on this point. The majority of the debate actually became Rush's usual history of how he was a self-made man.
The caller should have known you never get a well-rounded debate with any radio host. The host controls the time devoted to each side of the issue. He also controls the shut-off switch.
The guy was game, though. I give him credit for that.

Views on Rush’s show are right 99% of the time
His opposition could be right 1% of the time, as they would mostly say they disagree with everything Rush says
