Levi Johnston's Mom "Begging" Palin Family Not to Keep Tripp From Them (wants meeting with Sarah)
US Magazine ^ | 1 hour ago

Posted on 04/09/2009 10:04:24 AM PDT by lewisglad

part two of his CBS Early Show interview, Levi Johnston - the 19-year-old father of Sarah Palin's grandson - continued to accuse the Palin family of keeping him from spending time alone with his 3-month-old son, Tripp.

Levi's mother, Sherry Johnston, also claimed the family won't let her see her grandson and wants a pow-wow with the Palins to work out a custody arrangement.

In a perfect world, "everything will be reconciled," Sherry said. "[I hope] we can get together, if for no other reason, [than] for Tripp. He deserves to know both grandmas and grandpas, and aunts and uncles. And mom and dad."

"I had a really rough summer," added Sherry, who faces six felony counts of possessing and selling the prescription painkiller OxyContin.

After her arrest, she said the arrival of her grandson "was what kept me going. Just waiting for him."

Wiping tears from her eyes, she added, "I mean, Bristol and I talked about it a lot. Just like, 'Well, you'll have Tripp soon. And he'll be there for you.'"

"You're still waiting"? Rodriguez asked.

"I'm hoping," Sherry said. "I'm begging."

Levi said that while he talks to Bristol, 18, "every day, every other day," the conversations are "real short."

"You know, I call her to see -- see how my baby's doing," he said. "That kind of thing. But we don't really sit there and talk. Like, 'How are you -- how you been?' I mean, she's real short with me."

Tell Us: Whose side are you on - Levi or Bristol's?

Legally if Bristol listed him on the birth certificate he has rights, if she left that part blank then it would be up to him to pay for and prove he is the Dad if he wants rights to him.Again, if she knows, why force him to take the test, unless she wants to make his life hard?

That was my point nothing to do with what she knows.

Wrong. Making a father take a test that you know the answer to says that you just want to mess with him and deny him the right to see his child. If both parties know there is no reason to take the test.

Unless a girl is sure she is going to stay with the guy having a child out of wedlock sometimes it’s better to leave that part blank.

Better to deny the father the right to his child than to let him know because you may not want to stay with him?

So, the mom is ok making a baby with him but doesn't know if he's "ok" enough to be a dad, so best to deny the child the right of every child to know both parents? Best to deny the father the right to his child? Because she isn't "sure" she still likes him?

I have to say that that is one of the sickest, most depraved things I have ever heard in my entire life.

Denying a father and child their right to know each other because the mother isn't sure if he's "the one" is disgusting. I cannot find other words for it. Actually, I can.... but I won't.

He can sue for visitation and man up and pay child support. I’m not a big supporter of Palin, but this nonsense is - well - nonsense.

I think the MSM needs a new name. The ADM -Agenda Driven Media.

MSM is too soft “Mainstream” Media? Calling them the Agenda Driven Media when countering presumptions and omissions would get under their skin especially when our side goes on their networks. It cheapens their brand, tags them for what they are. Even the ignorant would catch on.

I am not suggesting she is stupid or not sincere.

Yes you are. You're trying to project her family problems, which were not her fault to begin with, on her ability to serve as Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.

And those were not mere "photo ops" as you put it, but images of her acting in her official role as Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard and as a sitting U.S. Governor, with all the courtesy and respect due that rank under military law and custom.

Furthermore, she has more experience with the military than Obama has ever had, even now, and yes she really knows how to aim and fire those guns she's holding.

So, get a life!

Sounds like Ma Palin should have stopped Bristol from seeing the Johnston lad. Now that the fruits of that union have arrived I have a hard time in her stopping the father and paternal family from being a part of Tripp’s life.

She wants to see the child ALONE? With 6 felony drug counts on her head? Not in this lifetime.

****************

Agreed. She should be allowed supervised visits only.

Instead of talking trash about the Palins why don't they just use that fancy Obama donor lawyer and take it to court?

I seriously think these fools saw Bristol as a gravy train from day 1 and now that the train has left the station they are thrashing around for any leftovers they can get.

Well thank God you're not a frakking judge then, since you are apparently unable to dintinguish between a FATHER with rights and his own mother who has no rights related to custody.

********************

I would usually agree with this perspective, but it is my understanding that Levi is living with his mother. For that reason, I would hope that should the Palins take this to court, the judge would require supervised visits as long as he lives at home.

It is because of people like Dr. Laura that many people think “Conservatives” are idiots.

Don’t ask the empty suit POTUS about this as he will frown and say that they should have aborted, ie murdered, the baby.

My best friend had her first baby at 15 and her Mother didn’t allow her to put the name on the BC. It ended up being a good thing when he decided to abduct the baby and move away with her. My friend spent a month trying to find out where she was and until the police were informed by her Mother that his name wasn;’t on the BC they would do nothing. So you might not want to be so judgemental, not all Fathers are good ones.

That might be the way it is in your state but in this state unless the father’s name is filled in on the BC they demand that he proves he is the father. Without the father’s permission the mother also can’t fill in that part either.

Levi does have rights, and he said he can see his baby every day if he wants. He is belly-aching about not being able to take the child over to his house. Well, DUH! He lives with his drugged-out Mom who is facing trial for 6 felony offenses. Good luck with that in Court, Levi. Come back after Mommy gets acquitted and we’ll talk.

OH....and he is SO very concerned about seeing his son, yet says he’s open to acting/modeling jobs. Last time I checked, there were no acting/modeling jobs in Alaska. He’d have to move to NY or LA for that. How much will he see his son then?

Please...he does get to see his phone and admits he talks everyday with the child’s mother. What he’s done regarding spilling about their private lives inexcusable.

“If” he’s talking everyday with the child’s mother, something tells me that Sarah and Todd have something to do with the breakup. If Bristol was as angry at him as Sarah is, I just don’t see him talking to her everyday. Something’s fishy, here, and I’m not sure he’s lying about this. I suspect now that the election is over, he’s not needed anymore.

I would have to relucantly concur with you. If Palin can’t handle a loser like Levi, then how can she handle North Korea and Iran? If Palin wants to seek the White House in 2016 or beyond, she really needs better advisors.

If Sarah had Bristol under her thumb to the point that she could force a break up I doubt they would be in this situation.

I meant to post earlier that I agree with you. Governor Palin’s mistake was her decision to run as VP while she had both a newborn baby to care for and an unwed, pregnant, teenage daughter at the same time. As a result, she came across as a distracted mother focusing more on her own career than her family. That may work for a Democrat, but not for a Republican.

If she had declined the VP spot in 2008, she would be in a better position now to run in 2012.

And if the father’s mother is a risk because she was arrested for drugs, is the grandfather’s sister a risk since she was arrested this past week for breaking and entering?

Um, I think there is quite a bit of difference between a thief and a drug addict when it comes to a baby's safety. I'd prefer not to leave my baby with a criminal at all. But murderers, rapists, drug addicts and dealers are definitely out. Alcoholics are also out.
