WASHINGTON President Barack Obama has declined to answer a question about the hostage situation off the coast of Somalia. The president was asked about the incident as he met with U.S. homeowners about refinancing mortgages. At the close of a Roosevelt Room event, the president was asked by a reporter if he were concerned about the piracy incident. Obama responded: "Guys, we're talking about housing right now." Reporters were then ushered out of the room as they usually are after such events. Obama has yet to comment publicly on the incident.

My S key is broken :)
Got a 5?
My guess is the man behind the curtain hasn’t yet programmed the “appropriate” response into Comrade Zero’s teleprompter.
He’s worse than Carter.
So, if he woulda been president on 9-11, he’d get a pass for saying . . .
“Guys, we’re reading to kids right now.”
Seems so simple.
"The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner fitted as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya."(near /Samalia)
As per http://suzieqq.wordpress.com/2008/02/25/drudge-and-obama%E2%80%99s-samali-garb/
He is elected now:
Welcome to New Kenya (Africa U.S.A.)
Where the law of the jungle has replaced the Law of the Land
Head-in-the-sand president.
That’s change.
Ah come on now! Ain't there at least one Sam Donaldson among you? Not one screaming "Why won't you answer my question?" Not one of you willing to hide under a desk? Sheesh! Even Iraqi journalists can toss a shoe or two!!
And they are MUSLIMS... so they get tacit support
he has a lot of white guilt. Of course he hates white people. He is just like the Richard Cranium dorks who voted for him. He is Erkel. Raised by the enemy and now he has to prove his street creds with the homeboys
Not just a weenie, but actively trying to build a case for NOT exerting the sovereignty of the US on the high seas. After all, we have annoyed these poor Somali pirates, flaunting our wealth by parading that wealth in ships past their coastal waters, and it is only right that we give up our right to protect these ships, and pay tribute th these pirates, that they should be annoyed no more.
Except then they would only EXPAND their operations, becoming ever more bold, as their actions are not subject to any punitive response.
What is needed is a task force cruising the the region, with assault aircraft on the ready for launch, and when a report of a piracy taking place comes in, the mother ship or the shore station from which the pirates departed is obliterated massively and with no attempt to take captives.
Two or three such massive and merciless responses would go far in reducing this piracy business. Theodore Roosevelt confronted this situation a century ago with the telegram that was tersely worded, “Perdicaris alive or Rasuli dead!” This was in response to a capture of an American citizen by a North African bandit, when US warships were standing off the coast at Tangier.
Perdicaris was released forthwithly. And it got TR elected in his own right.
Waiting for focus group results ?
like housing is more important than an American ship that was attacked by pirates. Dear God...save us.
The taking of NO side.
I miss Ronnie.
Ok, let’s be fair y’all....
His teleprompter at the moment only had the mortgage info. You have to give him time to get to the right teleprompter that has his piracy speech. Sheeeeesh...do I have to spell out everything?
/sarc (I hate putting the sarcasm tag...kind of kills the moment)
A FUBAR an hour from this circle jerk of an administration!
I miss the decisive response of Teddy Roosevelt. And that was over a CENTURY ago.
Where have we gone so awry?
Hell-I miss Bill....
And I'm starting to miss Jimmy.....
God help us.
