THOSE OLD Republican hot buttons are growing cold. For proof, check out a recent interview with Mitt Romney, a former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Massachusetts.
According to TheHill.com, a congressional newspaper that publishes when Congress is in session, "Romney believes that one way to attract more minorities to the GOP is to pass immigration reform before the next election, saying the issue becomes demagogued by both parties on the campaign trail." The article also quotes Romney as saying, "We have a natural affinity with Hispanic-American voters, Asian-American voters."
This could be extreme political repositioning, even for Romney.
. . . . .
How Romney gets beyond the flip-flop-flips of his multiple-choice positions on immigration and other issues is a mystery only he can solve.

I know that you didn't see it live, you claim to have seen a video of it but no has ever gotten you to post the source. I hope that you can find the video but until then the best source we have is Redstate "Hit the phones today make all the promises you have to, and
make sure that we get the funds that we need to keep on propelling this campaign forward with power and energy." Make all the promises you have to. http://archive.redstate.com/blogs/mark_i/2008/jan/11/romney_in_seven_words

Romney has a what? He is urging republicans to pass immigration reform NOW! How could they do that? HMMMM, Who has all the power in Washington?? HMMM. What type of bill would Pelosi/Reid/Obama pass ? Go ahead mbraynard, call me stupid again like you did last time I asked you this question. You are so smart you dont even have to explain your statements.

Listen, all Red State was saying is that Romney said this.
They did not state the other half that it was a JOKE.
In other words, they did a half-job of reporting for whatever reason. I guess they wanted a story.
Everybody was duped by Red State. You can't trust everything you see and hear, especially on the internet.
Oh my, GOOD CATCH, Dio! And I was inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt on “make all the promises you need to” thing! Guess that’ll teach me. My stars, what an interesting phenomenon Romneybots are. Very sad, and very dangerous. Romney is as big a danger to the GOP as Obama is to America.
I SAW IT LIVE. I know what happened.
It’s as simple as that.
The correct thing to do would be to ask me my opinion.
One needs to know the facts before posting things.
What the hell are you talking about?
After viewing the long set of interchanges on this thread, I don't think reading comprehension is the problem. Statements appear to intentionally misrepresent the posts they are responding to (e.g. the one quoted above). Your point, that Romney pushing for comprehensive immigration reform, with Pelosi/Reid/Obama in power, leaves little chance that such reform will be of the flavor palatable to conservatives.
I will second Syncro's call for the poster to post their credentials, as they offered. I predict a creative definition of "stuff."
You know what's really great about this is I would stack my credentials of DOING STUFF to advance the conservative agenda against all of you combined.
Sometimes I feel like there is not one politician that gives a crap what we think... or even about the Constitution.
It just seem like it is all a race to the popularity finish line.
If I had to sell out the principles in order to be elected, I would rather lose the election.
what is wrong with these asshats?
I stand by that.
I have no video — neither a link or recorded.
I saw it Live at Romney’s site.
I later replayed it.
Wow! You’re reporting skills are really on the ball.
Like I mentioned to you a long, long time ago, instead of jumping to conclusions about this, you could have at least ASKED ME for my opinion of what I saw since it I saw it LIVE.
That’s completely understandable, Finny.
I’m to one owed an apology, and I’m waiting.
Thank God you’re not a reporter is all I have to say.
You just throw things together without settling out the facts first.

Thanks. This mbraynard is pretty good at misrepresenting his assertions and throwing around insults without actually sticking to a position.
You’re welcome. My original post was not well worded and could have been misinterpreted.
Well why don't you quote him then?
"Hit the phones today make all the promises you have to, and make sure that we get the funds that we need to keep on propelling this campaign forward with power and energy."That ain't no joke, lady that's Romney.
LOL no lady, the correct thing to do is look at the quote.I SAW IT LIVE. I know what happened.

It's not that big of a deal, most politicians lie and make false promises.
Your guy just got caught. He's quite handsome though.
