Two men were arrested Tuesday night and charged with disruption of official meetings during the Wilmington City Council hearing on the proposed annexation of the Monkey Junction section of New Hanover County.

The charge is a Class 2 misdemeanor and the two were to see a magistrate Tuesday night, police said.

Several hundred people showed up for the annexation hearing inside council chambers. Most protesters didn't make it inside for the hearing.

Inside chambers there was a considerable police presence, including undercover officers.

I’ll create a separate thread for that article in a moment, since it contains some interesting info about a turnout of 1,000 for a tea party beforehand.

I just now saw the video. Looks to me this thing is just getting started. Did you go to the “Carolina Sweet Tea Party” last Saturday?

No, sure didn’t, due to work. If my personal schedule remains the same, I’ll be at the protest on the 15th.

you'll find an area that, in recent years, has experienced enormous growth, both commercially and residential.

East coast liberals moved south and now want their liberal control freak ideas to rule the area?

Just how can a city annex something without the approval of the people living in that area?

Something stinks in NC, and it ain't the seafood.

Have you ever heard of Cary, NC?

It stands for Congregated Area of Yankees and the town has been on a rampage for years annexing surrounding property so they can be more like the cities of the Northeast or the foreign countries with dictatorships which people living here fled from. It is finally slowing down because of protests.

NC is one of FOUR states that still allow involuntary annexation. stopncannexation
