My tin-foil hat therapy is that Barack Obama is already looking past the next campaign, and after his 4 years are up and he loses the election in 2012, he wants to be the next Dixie Chick.

Sadly, I think it does work for his supporters. Think of all the union members and retirees in Michigan, whose support of Democrats and spending beyond their means has helped make Michigan what it is today. Those people will vote 90% Democrat, regardless of what Obama does to them.

That is a good point and is what sickens me more than anything. Obama goes over to Europe and cuts America down to cheering crowds. 60% of Americans do not even have the sense to get angry about it. Probably 40% agrees with him that America is nothing special. It is like we have beaten wife syndrome.
