Romanian who raped a woman so he could 'live in luxury' in a British jail gets his wish
Daily Mail ^ | 03rd April 2009

A Romanian career criminal who raped a young woman so he could be sent to a 'luxurious' British prison and get free lodgings and English lessons had his wish granted yesterday.

Ali Majlat, who was allowed into this country despite having spent more than half his life in prison, cornered a 21-year- old at a deserted train station and attacked her in a subway.

He had been released from prison in Oxfordshire only two days earlier, travelling to Yorkshire in an unsuccessful attempt to visit his brother Dominic, who was already in jail for rape.

Majlat, 35, had been inspired to carry out his crime after hearing from Dominic about the 'easy and comfortable conditions' in British jails, and yesterday he was ordered to serve an indeterminate sentence at one.

Today the Daily Mail can reveal the shocking truth about Majlat's past, raising new questions about the ease with which foreign criminals can enter this country, as well as why he was not deported after his first jail term.

Majlat appeared to smirk in the dock due to what his lawyer said was a medical condition.

His victim has been left seriously traumatised by her ordeal, has difficulty sleeping and is afraid of men and isolated locations.

As with other EU citizens, Romanian nationals need only a passport to enter Britain, so immigration staff may not be given details of any convictions in their home countries.

Last year the Tories revealed that in the previous 12 months an estimated 3,000 foreign criminals were released without being deported.

The dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu, wasn’t a fun dictator to live under.

Seduced by Ceausescu’s “independent” foreign policy, Western leaders were slow to turn against a regime that, by the late 1970s, had become increasingly harsh, arbitrary, and capricious. Rapid economic growth fueled by foreign credits gradually gave way to wrenching austerity and severe political repression, which became increasingly draconian through the 1980s. During the 1947–1962 period, many people were arbitrarily killed or imprisoned for political, economic or unknown reasons:[74] detainees in prisons or camps, deported, persons under house arrest, and administrative detainees. There were hundreds of thousands of abuses, deaths and incidents of torture against a large range of people, from political opponents to ordinary citizens.[75] Between 60,000[76] and 80,000 political prisoners were detained as psychiatric patients and treated in some of the most sadistic ways by doctors.[77] Even though between 1962 and 1964 some political prisoners were freed in a series of amnesties, it is estimated that, in total, two million people were direct victims of the communism repression.[78][79]

I would imagine that the living conditions twisted quite a few people there.

I remember watching Ceausescu and his wife given a drumhead court martial and summary execution on television way back when — was it 1989? — I think it was, because I watched it in my soon-to-be father-in-law’s front room in Christchurch, and that was around Christmastime 1989.

It seemed a very perfunctory affair, devoid of any niceties. As I recall, the court martial convenor pronounced sentence, they had their hands bound behind their backs, and they were then frog-marched out to a brick wall in front of a firing squad, with the video cameras rolling. Seconds later, they were mowed down. All up, it seemed to be over with inside of one minute.

Ceausescu must have been a pretty nasty piece of work to deserve that sort of treatment. His firing squad had all the pomp and ceremony of Saddam Hussein’s hanging — that is to say, approximately none.

These types love Britain, America and other Western nations, because, well, they are stupid as hell. Socialism and diversity/politically correct nonsense have these countries on the road to ruin. Mind you, they are no longer walking that road, but are in a Lambo Gallardo at full throttle.

So when does Obama push for the US to join the EU?

It’s a crappy idea, so Obama’s sure to love it.

After the executions were carried, it was reported that over 300 Romanian soldiers had volunteered for the job, and that the firing squad had to be selected by drawing lots.

“...and get free lodgings”

The joke’s on him. Europe already has Obama-style reforms. He’ll be lucky to 60 days, barely any time to work on his English.

But I admire his honesty. Only when Europeans start to understand that their deterrence system has TOTALLY FAILED will they consider reform - and reform in this context means taking a look at worked several hundred years ago and applying it.

My understanding is that those who executed Ceaucescu were just as guity as he and they were just maneuvering to save their own lives and positions of power in the face of upwelling popular discontent.

O.K., Hungarian = Magyar, which descends from Mongolian-Turkic. The Romanian reference threw me since I know it descends from the Roman Latin, fused with the old Dacian. The Ali part of his name, though, I don’t get. That’s got Islam written all over it.

Note that his brother is Dominic. Also, his parents sent him away to live in an orphanage. Who knows about the situation. I don’t think Muslims send their kids away to orphanages...

You said — He is a gypsy.

Ahhhh..., that’s a piece of news that I didn’t see reported. That would explain a few more things, then. Where did you see that reported?

Certainly not Muslim. Your ignorance speaks volumes, classifying the seriousness of a crime according to a religion and associating a religion with all things evil just because you are too lazy, ignorant and stupid to figure it out for yourself:

Quote: ‘Majlat’s name also changed from Alin Mailat – the original name on a birth certificate – to Ali Majlat because he is unable to read or write...

Of the four brothers Dominic and Ali are now in British prisons, one serving two life sentences for rape and attempted murder, the other for rape and robbery.

A third, 37-year-old Geza, is on the run from Romanian police while a fourth, Sandor, aged 39, committed suicide last summer after being charged with attempting to murder his wife.’

I cannot believe the ignorance of some people in this day and age: you are as backward and narrow-minded as the low-life scum rapist himself.
