I would not be surprised if zero just now heard about it.

Its going to be an interesting day to see what kind of rambling lisping response he is going to yammer out.

Good thing he had a nice quiet romantic evening last night!
TOTUS should be well rested considering it had the night off. Yes, it'll be interesting how he pulls it off today.

WWI started because of one killer shooting a government official and you are telling me this couldn’t set off WWIII?

No, it would not.

World War I, for all of it's destruction and carnage never had the potential to end most all human life on the planet.

Nearly a century later, what might be called the 'great powers' now mostly understand that a world conflict will indeed be global in scale. There will be no safe refuge, no sanctuaries, everything and everyone will be a target of some kind.

For that reason alone, World War III won't be set off by the death of a government official.

But the Chinese now know exactly how to neutralize Japan so their new carrier fleet can operate freely in the Pacific. Obama and the idiots in DC have shown them the way through their own stupidity.

The ChiComs always knew how to neutralize Japan. Japan, for all of it's economic power has been self-neutered militarily for decades with encouragement from the U.S., starting with their new constitution courtesy of General MacArthur in '45, specifically Article 9 (banning of all but basic self-defense military forces).

Beijing has always known that when push comes to shove, Japan will understand that they continue to exist for only one of two reasons, a.) the United States military umbrella and b.) the indulgence of the Chinese Communists, who possess overwhelming military superiority over Japan.

0bama and his illegal usurper regime has emboldened ALL of the enemies of freedom on the planet, no question of it.

Prediction: look for a new Tokyo-Beijing version of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact of 1939. Tokyo will choose to become a vassal of the ChiComs, rather than to risk a future conflict it would certainly lose in the absence of an iron clad security guarantee from the U.S.

Japan will seek to strike the best deal they can.

And Mao will be chuckling.

Don't worry, WWIII isn't about to start over that little pipsqueak in Pyongyang.
Agreed, but slipping the little SoB a few nukes, airburst over Pyongyang and Wonson, would be be very satisfying, would it not? Failing that, send some B-2s and F-22s, with GPS guided bunker busters to take out whatever seems to need taking out.

America's political leadership never had the spine for it, starting with Emperor Billigula's misAdministration, continuing with GWB's two terms of screwing the pooch (example: 'Six Party Talks' instead of preemptive military action, Beijing and Pyongyang already knew GWB didn't have the balls for it, especially after groveling before Beijing when they forced down our surveillance plane 8 years ago this past week, ironically), and certainly the current 0bamunist regime isn't going to do anything to defend U.S. interests, the objective of our own undocumented Dear Kenyan is to dismantle our Nation, starting with our economy, on to our military, undermining whatever standing we have left in the world, 0bama's goals are essentially the same as our enemies and adversaries.

You are correct.

Long time observers and discussants to the Free Republic North Korea threads, over the last number of years, have been in generally strong agreement that GEORGE W. BUSH and his administration also bears a lot of responsibility over this most serious and deadly North Korea provocation today, with their endless appeasement of North Korea over the last three years and the fact the North Koreans figured out in 2005 that "W" did not have the balls nor attention for it.

Somebody omitting serious material facts, stated "They did this under Obama but would not dare do this under Bush". This person is ill informed. He or she has no recollection of 6 July 2006 when the North launched one, perhaps two Taepondong missiles, and then followed with a volley of scud and nodong missiles into the Sea of Japan. They PRECISELY did this because they knew that Bush would do nothing and that they had completely hoodwinked the Americans at the negotiating table with Six Party talks, and they wanted to test Bush's weakness further. He did not do jack s, just as they surmised.

That is why initially, while former President Bush had an excellent policy (most typified by "Axis of Evil" and freezing North Korean assets as well as seriously threatening Kim Jong il with J-DAMs enough to force Chia Pet underground into a bunker for nearly 39 days), he gradually phased this wise approach out, good people (hawks) left his second administration one after another until few if any were left, and by the end of 2005 he had pretty much morphed into nothing different than what we can expect from Obama...total State Department Sellout. This was from the RIDICULOUS SIX PARTY TALKS North Korean stalling for time ploy that both Condi Rice and Christopher Hill pushed, and "W" foolishly and fully signed on to. I could not believe that some people were on here earlier giving "W" Bush and his failed legacy somehow a pass on this. I have never seen them on these threads about North Korea at all, I suspect with all do respect, they havent the slightest idea what they are talking about. Do people think that North Korea developed these capabilities overnight, suddenly, in two months time, and positioned them just to test Obama (which it is a test by the way) and held off provocative action while Bush was in office? They have been building up steadily and steadily, lying all the way, hoodwinking us reprehensibly, over the last number of years, and it wasnt a DEMOCRAT in the White House. Verify with Ambassador John Bolton, Gertz of Washington Times, Heritage Foundation, anybody worth their conservative salt on this one. Sorry Bushbots. Ain't looking too good for your man (I will bet he is silent today) and of course it won't be any better under this idiot of a messianic leader, Obama.

By the way, here in Tokyo, just 25 minutes ago, we finished listening to Radio Pyongyang coming in very clear, with the special bulletin announcement of their launch of Kwangmyongsung-2 "satellite". It was a very emotion announcement lasting about three minutes. They closed by mentioning the date (in Chuche Year) that the statement was made by the Korean Workers Party. Then the male announcer closed and they launched into typical DPRK martial music. Very odd and eery; historic to listen to.

I’m prepared for the ‘Jong-il can’t get it up’ jokes.

North Korean ICBM overflying Akita Prefecture, Japan yet ... "Both FNC and CNN asleep at the wheel."

All explained long ago - End Times Reductionism the KEY to End Times Conspiracies. (1)

The bigger the LIE the easier it is to expose it. (2)

The difference between Star Wars during Reagan and ABM in East Europe is the same as between JFK really believing that landing on the Moon was possible and all the space hoaxes staged ever since the "space conquest" was reduced to a TOTAL HOAX. (3)

Pyongyang and the Russians are lying.

As posted, I listed to Pyongyang Radio live just 30 minutes ago and a male announcer excitedly stated that they had put it into orbit. I kind of laughed at this and said to myslef "just like 2006" This will be their second such satellite launched into orbit which was never launched into orbit. However, what is of concern is that they are increasing their distance.

Now watch Russia at the Security Council tomorrow state the US, Japan and South Korea dont have a case to stand on because it was a satellite orbital shot rather than an ICBM. Of course China will go along with Russia. So much for the "Six Party" fiasco. It is best of S. Korea, Japan and US somehow unite as an alliance against China/Russia/DPRK ASAP...but this will never be expected under the current occupant of the White House and we will have to wait until 2013 when he is out of there, and by then Honolulu, Anchorage or maybe even S.F. and L.A. will have been nuked or chem'ed and/or bio'ed.

The US media is NOT telling the American People the truth and what they need to know.

We are getting the truth here in East Asia, from media outlets and governments. What gives?

It almost feels like Radio Free Europe in the 1960s here on FR, broadcasting over the Berlin Wall into East Germany, the way Tiger, mkj, JJ, I and others have to post from here (or elsewhere) to bring folks up to speed as to what is really happening, due to the irresponsibility of US TV/media outlets either by incompetence or design and the fact that Freepers cannot rely much on US reportage, which is slanted to either place Obama in a good light, or avoid any reporting that presents a crisis in its true light which may force Obama to have to drop some of his policies they, the lib media, love (namely, appeasement of dictators opposed to US and allied interests).

Thanks for the post AiT, I take no pleasure in pointing out that GWB totally dropped the ball not only regarding North Korea, but on Iran.

Ironically, his failure to take out the other two legs of that 'Axis of Evil' make it appear even more so, that the liberation of Iraq and the subsequent execution of Saddam Hussein was nothing more than the Bush family 'evening up the score' after Saddam's aborted attempt to assassinate GHWB in Kuwait. I don't personally buy into that theory but I can certainly understand why others might, based on GWB's failure to follow through regarding Tehran and Pyongyang's aggressive intentions.

By the way, here in Tokyo, just 25 minutes ago, we finished listening to Radio Pyongyang coming in very clear, with the special bulletin announcement of their launch of Kwangmyongsung-2 "satellite". Kinda funny in a macabre sort of way, Comrade Chia Pet manages (we think) to put a satellite into orbit, and his people are still eating tree bark and grub worms as they desperately try to stay alive one more day.

History will eventually show that George W. Bush sold out those poor bastards all in the interest of trying to build himself a legacy via the vaunted 'Six Party Talks'. We heard many times during the past eight years just how much GWB 'loathed' Kim Jong Il for his treatment of the North Korean people, but when it was time to either fish or cut bait, GWB did the politically expedient thing and decided to validate North Korea's regime by continuing down the foolish damn path of the 'Talks', just like Chamberlain did with Hitler, and pissed all over those North Korean people that he claimed to care so much about.

It was all horseshit, and only the dyed-in-the-wool BushBots on their kneepads would try to say otherwise.

I was going to say that in listening to North Korean radio just now here in Tokyo the AM band in Korean (clear as a bell), they said that it is functioning correctly, it is transmitting March of Kim Il Sung and March of Kim Jong il military music, that it is equipped with all the necessary transmitting devices, that is is broacasting on UHF frequencies (specifically cited 470Mhz) and the usual bullshit.

Out of Seoul tonight, they are contradicting and saying that stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3 all came down into bodies of water (Sea of Japan for the first), Pacific Ocean for the other two, and that there is NOTHING IN ORBIT.

Once again we are faced with a bald faced lie by the North Koreans, a complete fabrication. In due time they will be proven wrong. I would love to see their evidence when this goes before the UN Security Council. Do you suppose they will let us all listen in to the live DPRK music fom Gwangmyeongsung-2 in space (earth orbit), on the big overhead speakers in the UN Hall? What a joke. LOL.

Quite my sentiments about Bush over this North Korean fiasco as well. And now we have OBAMA in the White House as point man. Things can only go from woefully bad to WORSE (i.e. totally sucks). Oh well. What can we do?
