Awesome. My niece came back from Afghanistan last week and I just showed her the thread. She’ll be going to Iraq next and is interested, but doesn’t know if the site is blocked. She is with an agency that supports the troops.

The canteen is a daily thread & it’s mission is to support & entertain our troops, Vets, their families & those who love & support them.
Someone is around almost 24/7.

The eruption of Redoubt Volcano continues. AVO has just lowered the alert level to WATCH and aviation color code to ORANGE; the intensity of ash-production has decreased.
Small, shallow repeating volcanic earthquakes indicative of lava dome growth are continuing at the rate of 3-4/minute. These earthquakes are most prominent on station REF.
Cloudy conditions currently preclude views of the volcano in the AVO webcam.

It may help you keep up with what’s really going on there.
