I can see how Iceland, which is much in need of $$$ like everyone else, could make a @#$% killing here. And cell phones and PDA’s can be networked with long-range Wifi and bluetooth devices that can have a working range of many miles with the proper installation, though you might have to have a bucket chain setup.

US Internet shut down will not effect the white house site.
This looks like the white house will still have world Internet acess while the US internet is shut down by executive order. Same as shutting down the phone system.

The bill does not only add to the power of the president. It also grants the Secretary of Commerce "access to all relevant data concerning [critical] networks without regard to any provision of law, regulation, rule, or policy restricting such access."
This means he or she can monitor or access any data on private or public networks without regard to privacy laws.
What about commerce on the web?
