Not bad, much better now dad is home, today we had a domicile optician visit and gave him a very thorough eye test. We have ordered him 2 pairs of glasses, one for reading and one for long distance (watching TV). She was great and even had samples of frames to choose from I was very impressed at the quality of the eye check available by this service.

She is also going to refer him to the Kent Association of the Blind who will advise us on what sort of reading lamp to purchase which will assist dad with reading. Apparently they advise on this sort of thing to all people with sight problems not just those who blind or partially sighted. Dad's problem is glaucoma and he has slight field of vision lose in one eye.

THE EYE TEST

Oh Snugs! Your father looks so well cared for! How sweet of you to post his picture! I’m so glad you are both having a better go of it!

LOL! Those lens they use to check his vision are funny. They remind me of the goggles that the young Anakin Skywalker wore in Star Wars I.
That's great they were able to come to the house to do the exam. Check with the Kent Association to see if they have tape machines that play books. I think it's the Library of Congress, here in the US, that makes available tape machines and books to folks who are blind, with other sight impairments, and even people who are dyslexic, and have difficulty reading.

One of my homeschool Mom friends has a son who is dyslexic, and she was able to get some of his textbooks on tape, and that made his learning much easier.
