As we enter April 2009 we are being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama I thought it would be nice to look back at the first 100 days of George W Bush Presidency.
The White House Website for the Bush Administration had a photo essay for the first 100 days which I am sure will provoke fond memories.
At the weekend I will post photos covering the first 2 weeks of April 2001 which once again I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years. Later this month I will post photos from the second half of Aril 2001 plus a selection of other photos that I am sure will be breath of fresh air and produce fond memories.
First of all before the photos I will post the text of remarks that George W Bush made at a Congressional Luncheon marking the first 100 days of the Bush Adminstration - ah those were the days.
I will also post some photos I have found of the Bush family for March 2009 including some of the former First Lady.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Great thread, snugs. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Oh Lord, how I miss our W and Laura.
I’m sure he and Lynne are glad they can spend more time in the beautiful Grand Tetons! I’ve only seen them from the North, driving out of the Southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Someday, I’d love to go to Jackson Hole, right smack dab in the middle of them!
And this ? Make sure to read the caption. Unbelievable arrogance and audacity !

That was what I was thinking too. No stress lines, smiling, and his hair was darker.
Yeah, I too miss Vice-president Cheney. It's too bad his health wasn't better than it is. Of course, I can't blame him for not wanting another 4 years of the flack he received as VP. He was speaking out against Obama’s policies, but then just quit. I hope he wasn't advised not to say any more.
This thread nearly brought a tear or two, I miss the Bush family so much!
It’s refreshing to see you and several others on this thread stand up for what is good and right. I wish Pres Bush could have had another term. The photos brought sadness because of how much I loved and respected him.
Thank you everyone here who keeps him in the front of our minds. It gives me hope.
PING!
You were making sense until you got to that part.
Caption to the last photo on #7 “Little did young Barack know then, that he too would someday become president.”
You were making sense until you got to that part.
No, it's true! Look at it this way:
1. She is tall, normally proportioned, and athletic, with decent facial features and bone structure, few lines, no gross defects
2. Most of a woman's attractiveness comes from the way she carries herself, the sweetness of her expression, her gestures, the charm and amiability with which she expresses herself, the grace of her movements. Much of Mrs. Bush's lovely appearance comes from her angelically sweet face and her graceful, ladylike demeanor. Michelle Obama would be attractive if she would stop scowling and could show in her body language, clothing choices, makeup choices, and speech that she is happy, kind, and truly feminine. The glow of Christian femininity radiates from a woman even if she is plain of appearance. This makes the plainest woman attractive.
Alas, we will never see this in Michelle Obama unless something radical changes.

Very well said, AS. Thank you for YOUR response. Pictures are a blessing...as was his Presidency at that time in history. I truly believe that it is up to all of us now. Too many in powerful positions aren’t on our side. George W. Bush had a humility to his character. George Washington was able to walk away...in his time, that took unmeasurable humility. Now, we are left with ego, instead. We need to step up ourselves and help our Country to return to everything our founders held dear and gave us to pass on to other generations. It can’t stop here...we have to help.
HEY Snugs I hear something on Aussie Daily Telegraph what big whoopie that Michelle Obama touch the Queen
