The message from Israel's new prime minister is stark: if the Obama administration doesn't prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, Israel may be forced to attack.
An Atlantic exclusive by Jeffrey Goldberg
In an interview conducted shortly before he was sworn in today as prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu laid down a challenge for Barack Obama. The American president, he said, must stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weaponsand quicklyor an imperiled Israel may be forced to attack Irans nuclear facilities itself.
The Obama presidency has two great missions: fixing the economy, and preventing Iran from gaining nuclear weapons, Netanyahu told me. He said the Iranian nuclear challenge represents a hinge of history and added that Western civilization will have failed if Iran is allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
In unusually blunt language, Netanyahu said of the Iranian leadership, You dont want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran.
History teaches Jews that threats against their collective existence should be taken seriously, and, if possible, preempted, he suggested. In recent years, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has regularly called for Israel to be wiped off the map, and the supreme Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, this month called Israel a cancerous tumor.

Saddle up, then, Bibi.
Bambi hasn’t the sense nor the guts nor the will to get the job done.
GO BIBI!!!!!
Thank God he’s now the Prime Minister of Israel! I wonder how TOTUS is going to respond to this request/promise....
Patience. Hussein is working on his next video where he cautions, “...or else”.
You stole the words right off of my keyboard.
Zero will do everything possible to prevent Israel from attacking Iran. He will do nothing meaningfull to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons.
I am surprised that the Saudi’s don’t pressure Zero to act on Iran..wonder why.
Well, at least Bibi has a set. I would fire up the fast movers on the tarmac right now, locked and loaded. If you wait for Bambi, Imadinnerjacket and The Boys In Funny Headwear will have at least 3 years and a few months to work out the details.
GO BIBI GO!!
Iran doesn’t have an American CEO to impeach.
Bambi is too overwhelmed by the financial crisis to take this on now, my guess is that Israel will go it alone.
The Zero has no plans on stopping Iran. All he wants is talk...................
I’ll probably be shrugged off as a conspiracy theorist for this comment, but I have to wonder if this isn’t exactly what Biden was talking about when he said Obama would be tested within 6 months and “our” response wouldn’t be popular (or seem right at the time?) but that “we” would be proven right and so he needed “our” pledged support and he didn’t mean money.
God Bless Israel and all her true allies.
SOME of us Americans realize there is true evil in this world, the only problem is we’re dealing with an embodiment of that evil in our White House right now.
It will definitely be interesting to see Obama’s reaction when push comes to shove. How can he possibly appease his Muslim comrades AND stand by Israel as an ally... (before people ask — I KNOW Obama is no ally of Israel, but he still pretends to be to some extent).
This child, Obama, is in WAY over his head...
Lots of chatter the last few days about nuclear weapons again...
Barry will probably return to his muslim roots and land an Airborne Division — in Jerusalem with orders to arrest Bibi.
“All he wants is talk...................”
No other way to say this, but.....
TO HELL WITH THAT!!!!!!!!
We need to speak in a language that Ahmadinejad will understand:
Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran......
It’s all you Netanyahu Obumba is not going to do anything.
Two huge failures for Obama in that case. Israel had better plan on taking care of Iran on their own.
