“The very sad thing about the story to me is that when he placed his precious Medal of Honor in the scanning box, the airport attendants didn’t know what it was”.

This angers me on so many levels, I can barely type. It’s a real good thing for all concerned that I wasn’t in that airport on that day.

Salutes to Lt. Finn, now and always.

Good evening, AR....I share your sentiment....education is so lacking. No one in the United States should not recognize the Medal of Honor.

I had the distinct honor of taking care of MR Finn when I was stationed in the ER at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He had his MoH I was working as the Triage Nurse I saw the medal and got him seen ASAP. When the Doc asked me why did I put him the trauma bay I told him Medal of Honor recipient from Pearl Harbor deserves front of the line care even if it was to wipe his snotty nose. The Doctor agree and Mr Finn regaled us all with his story about what happened at Pearl Harbor on 12/7/1941. Thank God it was a slow day in the ER.
