(March 26) - Sarah Palin is teeing off on the media once again.
In a little-noticed speech to a GOP dinner in Alaska last week, Palin riffed for nearly an hour on a variety of topics including her relationship with former McCain staffers, the Bush administration's anti-terror efforts, and actress Ashley Judd.
But the Alaska governor returned multiple times to the "unprecedented level of media slant" that she witnessed during her two-months on the Republican ticket with John McCain.
Her speech, delivered last Friday to the Anchorage Lincoln Day Dinner, was recorded by the Alaska Republican Party and posted online Tuesday.
Reflecting on the campaign, Palin said there were "a variety of reasons" Republicans lost in November, namely the faltering economy, but she seemed to place most of the blame on the press.

But we need our own message mechanism to make this work. It would be nice if the Repubs had a stronger technology focus.
Trash the media, make it a war, make people chose sides, do not offer them any credibility by going on their shows.
schu
You are dead wrong. Even McCain admitted that palin kept the Republican losses from being far far worse. It would have been DOUBLE digit margins vs what we had.
Palin was a HUGE asset in terms of money and in terms of turnout. The drag on the ticket was McCain and his beltway minion staffers.
It's possible.
I posted a story earlier about the stupid ethics complaints. The the AOL blogger that wrote the story said he thinks Palin brought that particular complaint to light just to make it look like everyone who opposes her is nuts.
The obamabots did not need the media, they had the social network to work around the media.
The RNC is internet CLUELESS.
Steeles answer to the internet? hip hop.
The GOP website and the McCain website specifically was PATHETIC.
I’ve said it since last year: Palin needs to run against the media for the rest of her career.
Brilliant Ticket!
Sarah was not much of a factor.
Right on.
Without Palin, Obama would have come close to taking all 57 states. Can you imagine what Zero's mandate would be if that happened?
I still want an explanation why the liberal subversive organization ACORN got 3.5 billion dollars in that stimulus bill. So far as I'm concerned AIG is a smoke screen to distract, and redirect attention away from ACORN's windfall $3,500 million dollar liberal rip off of the american taxpayers.
Thank you for the ping!
As long as the “ONE” and his rubber stamp Congress doesn’t bail out the MSM I think 2010 will be an interesting time for the media.
If they don’t bail them out...what will replace them as the Liberal mouthpiece? Will we actually have a Czar of Propaganda? If they do bail them out will they just move their offices into the West Wing and finally admit who they work for?
If the Rubber Stamp Congress is told by “The One” to vote the Fairness Doctrine in will Rush, etc. move to the Bahamas and have Pirate broadcasts like they used to do in England against the BBC?
The problem “The One” faces is what will his(at one time our?) government do to shut off the Conservative message if the MSM folds, how will they do it and just how well will that work out for them?
How right you are, this IS a war for sure. All we have to do is read the accounts of good people who suffered through communism and it's easy to see what we're facing. I think so many of us (conservatives) are still braindead about what is really happening.
I've always been a "glass half-full" man rather than the "half-empty" sort but I'm not optimistic about this at all. I doubt whether there will be even pretend "elections" in '12. In order to truly clean house and get it back in order I believe we're looking at at least 20 yrs. Nothing happens quickly except the take-over of evil, the Hungarians (for example) are all too knowledgeable about how quickly things change.
“Obama never came to FOX.”
Actually my FRiend, he did do the BOR interview that was shown on FNC.
but I agree that Cons have to learn to go for the jugular and play for keeps the way libtards do.
Hopefully Palin has learned from her experiences on the campaign trail and will act accordingly in the future.
I’d sure like to know how many really voted for Sarah v those who voted for BO because they didn’t like Sarah. The media did a really good job trashing her and I personally know people who voted for BO because they thought Sarah was totally unqualified.
Yeah, I know....how ridiculous is that - to think Sarah is unqualified to be VP but BO is qualified to be President.
I disagree. Sarah is the reason why I campaigned for McCain at all. Sarah got people fired up in my community. McCain did nothing for us, people were talking about sitting out the election. Sarah brought them back.
As to the people Sarah turned off, I don’t want them in the party anyway.
No, you agree. That's what I said. She helped preserve the conservative base that might have been tempted to sit out. I'm skeptical how many would have actually stayed home, given the presense of Obama as the other candidate. But that was her value--solidifying the base that the GOP should have been able to count on anyway. And that just shows that the real loss was due to McCain. He needed Sarah to merely break even with the base.
The fact that we can win anything running against a stacked deck tells you our basic our values mesh with the American people. It's can't just be paid ads ( they outspend us there ) or "talk radio" when they have PBS (for free) in every market in the US pushing liberal ideas.
And they are willing to lie. They put paid shills our our boards to decrease our ability to effectively communicate with each other. They pay liars to write letters to our people. They pay liars to call Rush and Hannity and tell them they're lifelong "Republicans".
And in spit of the lies, in spite of the advantage, in spite of the willingness to cheat - we still hold our own.
What does that say to you?
The point I take, which she doesn’t seem to get all the way to, though this is a drive-by so it can’t be trusted, is that we have to fight Big Media if we’re ever going to win again. We have to have other ways to get our word out. Other ways to rally. The way to win is to bypass their strengths. Candidates should refuse to debate in BM set-up forums. We can’t play their game. Playing their game gets us John McCain.
WE TRIED PLAYING THEIR GAME, WE GOT JOHN MCCAIN
WE TRIED PLAYING THEIR GAME, WE GOT JOHN MCCAIN
WE TRIED PLAYING THEIR GAME, WE GOT JOHN MCCAIN.
(a little chant I just made up, to the tune of “we gave peace a chance, we got 9-1-1.”)
McNut was elitist holding back Sarah and the populists masquerading as conservatives.
Everything you say matches what I said. So are you right or wrong? We both say Sarah helped preserve the base. We both say that that was necessary because of McCain. In short, we agree. The problem is that all Sarah was able to do was help McCain break even with the base. That’s why I say she was a push, at best.
Exactly what northern states would Bachman help win? She barely won her district with a complete buffoon running as the Dem opponent. Sorry, but this nice lady is not a national candidate.
