The colon is pretty unsterile environment to begin with. That being said, it is a sad state of affairs for the medical facility to do an invasive procedure without sterilization. And they want the government to reform Health Care? The VA is the government....Lord Help us!

A HUGE number of really bad doctors and nurses end up at the VA. We should get rid of ALL the VA hospitals and give insurance to veterans who have none or veterans with service related injuries/illnesses so they can seek care that is LOCAL to them and with a doctor they know and trust.

I wouldn’t want to have the colonoscopy after the guy with the man purse and the sleeveless shirt if you get my drift.

Government health care: It Works!
A friend of mine was being treated at his local VA. He was seriously ill. They would regularly send him home, mis-medicate him, etc. They misdiagnosed him and eventually he died of a curable disease.
That we would treat our veterans so despicably does not bode well for national health care. In this case: nothing is better than something (from government).

That solution would actually work and have the added benefit of shrinking the size and scope of government.
It will never happen.
