(Robin) Williams recovering in Ohio after heart surgery

NEW YORK – Robin Williams was recovering at the Cleveland Clinic after heart surgery that his doctors deemed successful, his publicists said Monday.

The 57-year-old actor had an operation to replace an aortic valve on March 13, publicists Mara Buxbaum and Chris Kanarick said. He was expected to make a complete recovery in the next eight weeks.

"His heart is strong and he will have normal heart function in the coming weeks with no limitations on what he'll be able to do," said Dr. A. Marc Gillinov, a cardiothoracic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic. "A couple of hours after surgery, he was entertaining the medical team and making us all laugh."

I like Mr. Williams. He was prominently featured last month (maybe the month before) on my USO calendar.

I appreciate a man who puts his money where his mouth is.

p.s. I had surgery on a Wed. and was at the Oklahoma bomb site and the Oklahoma zoo the following Monday. I didn’t want to miss anything!! :)

I though he was Canadian,shouldn't he be taking advantage of the Universal Health Care there..Him and his liberal friends should have to use that type of health care they saw to it the king of stupid got elected and wants to give us the shaft on health care..

Strange I thought he was born in Canada..I guess he is luck then, he did not have to wait in line in Canada to get surgery..Well after his liberal buddies get finished he had better hope he has no more heart problems..

I had quadruple bypass surgery a year ago had four aneurysm's two on the back side of my heart and two on the front..I was blessed they found this..and blessed we still have the medical system we have today..

I think he spent time in the Bay Area from 16 onward and honed his skills there and at Julliard briefly. Chicago has a long comedy tradition tho too.
