The weekend did nothing to quell the ongoing war between Meghan McCain and Laura Ingraham.
McCain, daughter of presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, came out last week and responded to Ingraham’s remarks that she was "plus-sized," remarks that were a direct result of McCain’s public criticism of the Republican Party.
Ingraham’s comments also included some disrespectful dismissal: "Do you think that anyone would be talking to you if you weren’t kind of cute and you weren’t the daughter of John McCain?" She went on to mock McCain as a heavyset Valley girl.
McCain wasted no time biting back, and took more shots at Ingraham on today’s episode of "The View," telling the girls, "When Tyra Banks went on her show in her bathing suit and said, ‘Kiss my fat ass,’ that’s what I feel right now. I’m like, ‘Kiss my fat ass!’" Ms. McCain, who writes for The Daily Beast, also said that Ingraham’s remarks hurt more than just her. Via Think Progress:
What do young women think when I speak my mind about politics and I want to have a political discussion about the ideological future of the Republican Party, and the answer is, ‘She’s fat, she shouldn’t have an opinion.’ What kind of message are we sending young women? … It infuriates me. I’m a political writer on a blog, and all of a sudden I’m too fat to write?
Ingraham responded immediately, and said on her radio show:
The bottom line is it’s rough and tumble out there. You wanna put yourself out there as someone who’s going to redirect the future of the Republican Party, and you’re going to have to deal with satire. You’re gonna have to deal with people teasing … You gotta just take a chill pill … Can I say lighten up or is that offensive too?
No, it’s not offensive, but remarks on McCain’s weight certainly are.

nailed it! plus her fat ass and the I’m like, I’m like 14 year old crap out of her face shows her as a goddamn joke.
What’s wrong with plus sized women? They need love too. Laura Ingraham isn’t exactly a beauty queen and that nasally voice is grating.

I’ve defended Meghan on several threads about the fat stuff. It’s ridiculous. She’s not one of The Thins and probably couldn’t get a runway job but she’s certainly not fat and she’s certainly better looking than most of her critics. In fact,she’s extremely pretty.
That being said, I don’t like her any more and she should just go away and shut up until she grows up.

The View adds a Jerry Springer Show quality. But there are better sources for becoming better informed on conservative political philosophy before expounding on it with confusion.

In a word... YES!
Waiting to hear that the Laura Ingraham-Meghan McCain feud is part of a Straussian neocon fusionist strategy to make Meghan a more sympathetic figure and thereby attract 20-something Valley Girls and The View viewers to the GOP. But they need a Jeff Spicoli Republican for the guys to balance it out.

As a newly single guy, I’d hit Megan McCain before Laura Ingraham.
Unless I missed it, Ann ignored her original attack. I was proud of her for that. Don’t give her what she wants.
