In what parallel universe do you live? Most minorities vote for only one reason: Welfare and more welfare.

Most minorities vote for only one reason: Welfare and more welfare.
Dems typically support minorities and their welfare.
Pubbies typically support corporations and corporate welfare.
Those $billions in recent bail-outs have not been going to those on welfare.

“Most minorities vote for only one reason: Welfare and more welfare.”
This is not true. The vast majority of minorities do not receive welfare and many look down on other minorities that do.
To the extent that welfare helps the Democrats with minorities, it is mainly due to the fact that Democrat welfare programs, while ultimately destructive to minorities, are seen as an indication that they “care”. On the other hand, conservative calls to cut these programs and get people to stand on their own feet and achieve a higher standard of living are spun as “racist”.
The fundamental problem is that the Democrat party is seen as the party that “cares”. Most don’t of course, and to the extent they do, their well meaning programs do more harm to minorities than ten thousand Klansmen ever could.
We need to effectively that we are the party that cares enough to tell the truth and not to pander.

Then how many whites vote for that same welfare(DemocRATS)? There`s a victim pathology that's been cultivated by the left in minority communities, to deny it is to surrender to the basest of emotions.
What we need is a renewed effort to educate on the destructiveness of "liberalism", tell me this; Why has there not been a serious and concerted effort to perform an exhaustive study on the long term effects of the "War on Poverty"? Its a glaring and shockingly short sighted oversight by the conservative movement.
The things I`ve personally see would be enough to turn some opinions, it would help if we have more than anecdotal evidence to back us up. Giving up is tantamount to a death sentence for our Republic,or a way of ensuring a civil war that would at best leave a fragmented and crippled shadow of the formerly greatest nation on earth.

Most minorities vote for only one reason: Welfare and more welfare. I am certain many people (white or black) vote to receive welfare. But, I think you are missing the bigger picture the author tries to address. Since living on welfare, is not the same as living in splendor, why do so many blacks accept it?
The mere fact of accepting welfare, relegates a person to the lowest levels of society. While I agree that getting a "free lunch" can be enticing, the cost of the "free lunch" in social status is significant. So, something else must be contributing to the extreme level of support the left receives from blacks.

My wife's empoyers are originally from India. They've worked very hard and have achieved great success. They were huge supporters of GWB in 2004 and have been very reliable RNC donors. Somehow, they went to see Obamateur speak at a rally here and were in the front row. We have a very small non-caucasion population so it was probably just coincidence that a couple of regisered Republicans got great seats.
They flipped and decided to support Obamateur because "..looked into his eyse and saw he has a a dream. He came to this country just like us and can inspire others to live their dreams."
So, they saw him as an immigrant with a dream rather than an American with a plan. Too bad the dream was one of socialism and making succesful people like them the enemy. It is kind of funny because they are now very, very concerned with what is on the way. They have always wanted less red-tape/bureaucracy/taxes and to just make their living on their own. The Obamateur is making himself known as an enemy of business (when businesses are doing well, they do very well!) and that they are going to get killed with taxes. Their accountants are now more important than their salesforce- they'd rather try to restructure and minimize their liabilities than grow their companies!

BUT...
Plenty vote conservative on social issues. Gay marriage in CA died not because of the Mormons but rather the minority votes against it.
Hard to sort all of this out.
