Have we all suddenly gone mad? Have our wits suddenly deserted us? Has common sense been completely routed from our lives? The indications are not good.
In a little-noticed verdict last week, a U.S. District Court of Appeals has decided that the Clean Air Act requires the Environmental Protection Agency to act against farmers who endanger public health by kicking up dust in the course of their business. Expect anti-dust regulations and fines to follow.
For those unfamiliar with pastoral activities, allow me to enlighten: I grew up on a farm, and can personally attest that most types of agriculture require close contact with dirt. Especially for the dry-land types of farming that produce most of the worlds cereal crop, a cloud of dust is the unavoidable consequence of preparing the land for planting. Even using the most modern and minimal cultivation techniques, its a grimy business.
But the Big Wazoos of regulation in the District of Columbia dont care about details. According to the EPAs spokesperson, the agencys goal is to protect public health, so the dust must go. How that will be done is somewhat less clear. Perhaps gigantic plastic sheets to trap the noxious stuff before it offends the nostrils of those who eat what farmers grow?

As the new tax on all energy comes up (it will be here soon) the price of electricity and all other energy will go up by several thousand % and as it is called cap and trade we will be the people who are required to freeze or starve or die of heat because of the anti-American pro Communist left.
You can get the counties to help fight against this by demanding that they pave all dirt roads. This would drive them nuts and maybe leave the farmers alone. EPA is a bunch of fools and should be disolved.

Yes.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Democrat control of the White House and both houses of Congress. We've got at least two more years of this crap.

The lunatics have definitely taken over the asylum.
You can still farm above ground just buy the equipment to flood your fields before you cut, dry and bale hay.
If the people lead, the leaders will (eventually) follow...
I am about through Atlas Shrugged (just finished reading John Galts three hour speech).
It is amazing how the book reflects today’s reality.
Perhaps we need to go Galt. Any place to hide in Colorado
:-)
"... Cahill warns that the African dust could confound efforts by the Environmental Protection Agency to limit pollution from airborne fine particles. The agency is considering setting standards for particles below 2.5 micrometers in size. Natural sources could violate such standards on days when air currents carry large amounts of Saharan dust, says Cahill.
'It just shows that when it comes to fine particles, we're all one world,' he says. Indeed, researchers from Mauna Loa Observatory on Hawaii find that dust storms from China and Mongolia reach Hawaii about 20 times a year, cutting down on visibility there."
Dust Storms Overseas Carry Contaminants to U.S.
"... 'No one in authority really wants to hear about this problem, even when it is known that African dust sporadically exceeds EPA air standards in places like Miami during the summer months,' Shinn said in a letter recently. "No government agency wants to face this problem because no one knows what to do about it..."

“Perhaps we need to go Galt. Any place to hide in Colorado”
Just don’t raise any dust getting there...
These folks want to cause famines for the good of the people.
Environmentalism is the new communism.
It’s no secret that many of the former communists in Europe joined in with various environmental movements following the demise of the Soviet Union.

I don't have a problem with the dust. Those who do can wear a friggin' dust mask. The EPA needs to get its head out of it ass.
Actually, the blame for this goes back a long way. It was that jackass Richard Nixon who established the Environmental Protection Agency, in order to make himself look better to liberals. (A lot of good that did.)
And it was G. W. Bush who failed to clean out these agencies, so they continued to publish damaging regulations all through his eight years in office. (Again, a lot of votes that got him from the environmentalists.)
Obama hasn’t even had time to worsen these agencies. But they’re still packed full of clintonoids and carterites, who now think they have come into their own. This stuff was already starting when Bush became a lame duck.
No more pussyfooting...bring ‘em on!
