Yesterday, I reported that Pennsylvania conservatives were annoyed, but not all too worried, that Republican-turned-Constitution Party member-turned-Republican Peg Luksik was joining the race against Sen. Arlen Specter. Heres another reason why Luksik fails to impress people Jim Clymer, Luksiks running mate in her Constitution Party bids, is an Obama Birther.
Last year, Clymer who is now the national committee chairman of the far-right third party called for President Obama to release his birth certificate or not take the presidential oath of office.
The Constitution is crystal clear on the issue of citizenship. Article 2, Section 1 states that no one can be sworn into office as President of the United States unless he is a natural born citizen. Obama has yet to produce even basic proof that he was born in this country. Average citizens cant even get a drivers license without such proof of citizenship and Obama is contending he can assume the highest office in the land without such proof! If a non-citizen can be given a free pass to the presidency than whats to say someone with no allegiance and who harbors ill will toward the country wont someday assume office?
Before she temporarily left politics in 2000, this was one of Luksiks closest political allies.
Another third-party egomaniac out to make a gesture, grab the spotlight, hurt the cause?
A Clymer seeking the truth? World gets stranger every day.
Am I mis-reading this? Is it bad that Clymer is demanding Obama produce his bitrh certificate? Are those of us who want to see it now referred to as “birthers”?
Barf alert
Luksik is a single-issue candidate who will only help to get Specter re-elected,
I learned years ago that there are two possibilities when dealing with single issue people:
1. They get what they want, then they pick up their marbles and go home.
or
2. They don’t get what they want, then they pick up their marbles and go home.
They have no concern about or understanding of the larger issues.
So he’s a “birther”?
Sounds good to me.
Third parties and their candidates, generally, only exist to split conservative votes and elect Democrats. I’m beginning to wonder if the Constitution Party and other third parties might not be foils from the Left, set out there to split conservatives and get them at each others’ throats. I think it’d be interesting to see a full accounting for the sources of funding for these “conservative” third parties.
Are those of us who want to see it now referred to as birthers?
Yup an originally derogatory term originated on the left to parallel their fringe truthers (you know 911 was an inside job!). It is meant to ridicule and marginalize those of us who have been simply asking Mr. Obama to confirm his eligibility under the Constitution. It is a lefty tactic straight from the Alinsky rulebook. Embrace it Russ, you are now a Birther.
Moderates can thus sneer at supporters of the Constitution as "birthers." After all, it's not that the President would lie about such a thing...
I'm not so sure I believe all this birth certificate stuff myself, but all the same, if it helps to delegitimise Obama, then more power to it. Plus, it helps to at least get a few peoples' minds back on the Constitution, as well as forcing the Obamoids to spend money defending themselves in court - money that might otherwise be used for Obama's re-election bid in 2012.
While I admire Peg, I’d rather support Toomey for that seat.
one man’s birther is another man’s freedom fighter ...
I second that. Toomey’s stature is much more robust. If W and the RNC establishment hadn’t blundered six years ago, Toomey would be running for re-election.
Something about Zerobama’s citizenship is very strange, else why would he refuse to release his college records (might they reveal that he matriculated as a foreign student, Indonesian or Kenyan, perhaps?). We know that his stepfather adopted young Barak and renamed him Barak Soweto. How does he explain how he traveled to Indonesia and Pakistan after graduating from college if he never had a US passport until he was elected to the US Senate in 2006? Inquiring minds want to know!
I'm not sure I do either, but darned if the guy doesn't act like he's hiding something.
I learned a long time ago, when someone acts like he's hiding something, what he's hiding may not be what you think he's hiding. He may be hiding something not nearly as bad as you think. And that may be the case here, it may be merely embarrassing rather than disqualifying. But danged if he doesn't act like he's hiding something.
Very true. Granted, Hawaii does claim to have the original goods, but all the same, the RINOism Gov. Linda Lingle may be easily subverted to protect 0bama, too. I sometimes wonder if 0bama doesn't release the birth certificate just because he's too arrogant and proud to think he has to do what the little people want him to do.
Yes we are. See: http://www.birthers.org/
The dike hopefully will crack and he will run out of attorneys to stop it.
What's her single issue? The Constitution? Shame on her and Clymer who think it's a good idea we follow the Constitution. How dare they!
