The IRA disarmed and renounced violence in 2005, but splinter groups using a wide range of labels have tried to continue the campaign.

George W. Bush (Sept 20, 2001): "You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists." Not every rocket launched from Gaza into Isreal was officially sanctioned by Hamas. I'm sure if the IRA wanted to distance themselves from these guys, they could do so fairly easily.
