In 2004, Santorum joined President Bush in stumping for Specter...

“I made a mistake. I put party loyalty ahead of loyalty to the conservative cause. I am sorry. I have seen the result of my decision and it is frightening. I will not make that mistake again and today I am doing what I should have done before....I am announcing my full support for Mr. Toomey as the next senator for the great state of Pennsylvania!”

If it takes more than two seconds for Santorum to back Toomey, then his entire conservative persona must be considered suspect.

I had continued to defend Santorum until the Spector thing.

Even then, I figured that a man can make a mistake.
But if he supports snarlin Arlen again...well I’m through.

Go Toomey!

I saw Santorum on C-Span about a year back going on and on with some leftard. The general gist was "we're too fiscally conservative". Santorum is no conservative and should not be regarded as one.

The Toomey/Specter race in 2004 was a defining moment, at least for many Pennsylvanians. That’s when it became clear that the GOP had abandoned the conservative principles of the ‘94 revolution, and became a party merely concerned with maintaining power. Of course that’s what caused them to lose it

Is this a quote or are you just advising Rick to say this?

Being that he was the Senate sponsor of the Prescription Drug Pandering act, his "entire conservative persona" has been suspect for quite sometime now.

Just out of curiosity...if Santorum is not a conservative, who in the judgment of those on this board is? Purely informational request.

Santorum also endorsed the liberal Slick Willard for President, too. He jumped the shark.

I doubt it. I think Rick would say "commonwealth."

Seems these clowns are all in bed together.
Last time around Bush and Santorum both helped Specter squeak by and Specter then crapped on ALL Republicans.
And Santorum and Bush will probably support the rino turd this go around too.
