Unfortunately, we are saddled with a communist sympathizer in the White House. I don't know whether or not he's an actual card carrying commie, but he's definitely an America-hating, anti-capitalist Marxist leftist who thinks communism is the way to go. Now I remember when America used to fight against communism. It wasn't that long ago. Many of us on FR are veterans of wars against communism and some of us believe that American citizens who are communists are the enemy within, ie, the domestic enemy we've sworn to defend against. American citizen? hmmmm... that may be a loophole for Obama.
At any rate, the oath is to defend our constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. I can imagine that this places an enormous strain on our Secret Service agents. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Obama is an enemy of the constitution. So should the SS defend the constitution or defend the anti-constitution commie?
So now comes the problem. If you feel it's your duty to call Obama a traitor and use salty language in your proposed resolution, ie, suggest the commie be keelhauled, walked off the plank, run up the yardarm, tarred and feathered and run out of Dodge, etc, etc, etc, you may be facing a visit from your friendly Secret Service. And even though your visiting agent may agree politically, and may take his oath to the constitution seriously, he's still sworn to protect the officeholder and it's his duty to take all threats seriously. And that may include serving me with a subpoena to turn over your IP address. Now I'm duty bound to protect your privacy to the best of my ability, but I cannot defend against stupidity.
Best advice I can give is to keep it to yourself. Don't post anything that may embarrass you later, or end you up in the slammer.
Ever vigilant.
Keep your powder dry.
Ahhhhhhh, but, in this case . . . it’s not you that’s at risk.
It’s the friend.
And, as a psychologist . . . paranoia has to do with UNREALISTIC threats.
This one is entirely realistic . . . depending on how high they rate such in their algorithms.
But don’t trust me. Ask your friend.
We have an abuse button, point out comments that go over a line (even if that just means racially insulting).
Don’t be afraid to point out candidates to the Admin worthy of a Zot either.
This site is a good place. We shouldn’t see it judged by questionable comments.
Depends on a lot of things.
I like your points.
However, we now have courts that can meet in secret.
Draconian stuff is already on the books . . . passed as . . . law . . . of course . . . for our safety . . . and for the children . . .
and UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
The folks ref’d in my tagline—our leaders—since 1900 have not given a twit for The Constitution . . . and have been actively shredding it at least that long.
(email, phone gathering time as well )
INDEED.
We need to be able to support one another when things crash big time.
The real concern I have is that it won't need to be a threat to get the ‘special’ treatment, just (good ol’ fashioned patriotic) dissent, criticism, and disdain.
Joe the Plumber got his world turned inside out for asking a question. Political opponents of Obama have been forced out of the running. Talking heads that don't toe the hopey-changey rainbow world of wonderfulness get singled out by name by this White House.
THAT is what concerns me.
LOL.
Ahhhhh wellll . . . things are tough all around Hilty Super Jerk.
The two main parties were co-opted by the Oligarchy and cast in good-cop/bad-cop roles a long time ago.
And played like a piano very effectively for many decades.
I was duped far longer than I should have been.
Might be worth doing and might help Jim.
However, I’d bet that the powers that be either have set up the proxy servers or have all the data on them copied to their acres of computers in real time 24/7.
it will be thrown out of court.
= = =
For now.
However . . . folks who use . . . certain files . . . for harrassment of the serfs and slaves are quite up to doing so worse now than ever.
4 warned is 4 armed.
Fly low, beat the radar.
That excellent advice, Jim.
Thank you!
What a nightmare, Gramps!
I’m impressed with your wife, though. ;o)
I don’t put bumperstickers on my car here in Oregon.
It’s just inviting trouble.
Thanks for the post and ping!
At least one that I know of. He used to be our only “SS approved” FReeper. May be one or two more now.
However, Id bet that the powers that be either have set up the proxy servers or have all the data on them copied to their acres of computers in real time 24/7.
_______________
Not outside the US they don’t. Use one outside the US.
Something that I’ve always considered a big difference between American conservatives and American liberals.
I suspect that a large number of American conservatives would willingly put themselves between Obama or President Clinton or President Carter and an assassin’s bullet if it was needed - because it’s the right thing to do no matter what their politics.
I suspect a much smaller number of American liberals would ever consider doing the same for either President Bush. Because that don’t seem to think the same way.
Yes, I know there are exceptions on both sides - but I bet that’s where the numbers come down overall.
Ultimately, posting on FR is apt to get that attention, not just from the SS but from Homeland Security and the FBI, etc., surely from the IRS. J.R., I hope your finances are impeccable and totally documented.
I’ve also seen set up situations where a cookie was deliberately placed on a computer via responding on a forum (not here)
___________
Not if your computer protection doesn’t allow cookies. I have 3 programs, cookies are only allowed on the sites I choose. Others, no way. Get a cookie cleaner, run it every hour or so, deletes all cookies. Get spyware that runs constantly and blocks. Set it to the highest levels of security. Surf in stealth mode. Granted, some web pages won’t load but I don’t want them to if my programs detect things I don’t want.
Shortly after that I got an ex-green beret roommate.
He described his job as 'overthrowing foreign governments'
Coming back to the US from [wherever] to the country's first non-elected president fascinated him. He studied what happened to Nixon and declared that it was exactly, step-by-step, what the Army had trained him to do. "There is some Colonel in the Kremlin who's a general now because of this!".
So, of course, I blandly asked, "Gee, 'Freddy' are you sure that was in the Kremlin and not the Pentagon?"
He blanched a little and didn't talk to me for two weeks...

The SS knows that a defense litigator in federal court will require a $10,000 retainer fee...at minimum...and that’s just the beginning.

Bring it on. I can afford it.
