President Obama and the Democrats who control Congress have a plan for the radical leftward transformation of the economy. They want to raise taxes, raise spending, and increase regulation to levels not seen since the 1970sor the 1930s.
I propose a conference on economic policy, to be held in Washington. The situation is urgent. Republicans have to block the multi-front Obama agenda of tax increases, more Wall Street bailouts, socialized medicine, cap and trade energy policies, and, yes, thousands and thousands of new earmarks.
The time has come to save our free-market system. The time has come to defend our traditional way of life against this hostile government takeover. The time has come for Republicans to raise their collective voice in opposition to these dangerous trends.
At a time when even liberal Democrats, such as Jim Cramer, are afraid that President Obama is taking America off a cliff with his left-wing agenda, it is time for Republicans to put aside feuds and factionalism and get serious about pulling together an alternative vision, a new plan of their own.
I propose a conference on economic policy, to be held in Washington. Nothing fancy, nothing overly elaborate because the situation is urgentRepublicans have to block the multi-front Obama agenda of tax increases, more Wall Street bailouts, socialized medicine, cap and trade energy policies, and, yes, thousands and thousands of new earmarks.
Participants could include Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), the ranking Republican on the House Budget Committee, and a leading economic reformer. Other possible participants could include Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Tex.), a leading conservative in the House, and Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), the ranking Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, who has emerged as perhaps the most biting critic of the various bailouts.

Don’t think for a minute thoughts of insurrection are not brewing.
This is rapidly becoming taxation without representation. Or worse, “representation” that represents only a minority in this country, tht has chosen to legislate in the most wasteful, unprincipled and ineffective manner possible, given the resourses we have available.
The great engine we have at our disposal, the availability of cheap and plentiful energy, whether from coal, or petroleum, or natural gas, or nuclear power, is being restricted and governed down to the point of inefficiency, and priced out of easy reach. We are offered a “green” substitute, that shall not within our lifetimes be able to make more than a brief small supplement to our growing demands.
One of two things has to happen. Either we throw off this new regime we are being saddled with, or we go through a prolonged depression until the situation is so desperate, there may be no tolerance left for anything less than draconian measures.
The “intelleftuals” of the illiterati claim there is no such thing as “clean coal”, and for that reason, we may not mine or consume any of it ever again for purposes of generating power, or heating homes, or deriving any of a wide array of chemicals from coal. At the very least, their grasp of modern chemistry and engineering are pretty shaky, if they are not just flat-out prevaricating and denying factual information that SHOULD be available to them.
Health care provided by others shall ALWAYS be rationed, whether by the factor of cost, or the simple scarcity of resources to devote to health care. One thing that EVERY human being in this country, or anywhere in the world, can do, is to learn all there is to know about the care and operation of the human body, to the extent this knowledge is available, and apply this knowledge to the degree possible for the individual. Relying on the expertise of somebody else to provide the basic maintenance of your own body is as demanding and greedy as insisting another should attend your needs and wants for as long as you are perfectly capable of your own personal attention. Intentionally breaking your own body, and demanding somebody else take care of the problem, is as totally self-absorbed as an obnoxious toddler.
What I am saying is that health care is NOT a right, and should not be interpreted as one. Your own health care is a personal responsibility, like dressing yourself of feeding yourself.
What bothers me most is that Obongo is engineering a crisis that will “justify” the heavy hand of statism—precisely what Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot and Stalin did. It’s prelude to politically motivated mass murder. As I said on another thread, the question for Conservative patriots is whether we choose to be reactive (usually a losing strategy) or whether we become pro-active and pre-emptive.
One thing Obongo seems oblivious to: the military is with our side. It’s not surprising he’s blind to this fact seeing as how his body language exudes contempt whenever he’s around a person in uniform.
If you change “dirtiest” to “most fraudulent” and I’m 100% with you. ;)
30 years ago, no one could have told me that Americans would ever be debating legalizing such things as "gay marriage", or even assisted suicide". But my how much we've lowered our traditional standards, simply by allowing the media pundits to push the leftest agenda to the point that 50% of the country now see nothing wrong with either.
However, when the bottom eventually falls out of the economy, and they find that they no longer have a job, can't sell their 300,000 home for more than 75,000, and then that falls apart because the buyer can't secure a loan; then they'll wake up and realize that the "Hope they can believe in" was nothing more than a VAGUE slogan used to play on their twisted world view of what life is like in "never land" so as to convert them into the useful idiots they have become.
When all is finally said and done, I wonder how many will eventually see the light?
That just cries out to be a bumper sticker on 30 million conservatives’ cars.
Me too. I hate leaving my warm state but I’d brave the cold to stand in front of the White House lawn and throw tea bags onto it.
During the Revolution only 1/3 supported the Revolution, 1/3 supported the King and 1/3 took no side. Well, this sounds a whole lot like right now!
[It might be tar, feathers, torches and pitchfork time. ]
We are getting mighty close to that point. I do commercial real estate and so have to try and analyze where the economy and financial institutions are headed, and I can’t see anyplace but down. Monstrously high taxation and high inflation, all as government policy during a recession. There is no way up with that recipe.
Social unrest is just around the corner.
Or is Obama just the symptom of a nation that set its course on self-destruction many years ago?
Personally I believe that we were doomed the day we elected Bill Clinton as President amid cheers of "character doesn't count".

This is not what General Sherman suggested to General Lee.
Amen my friend.
