MARCH 3--Angered that her local McDonald's was out of Chicken McNuggets, a Florida woman called 911 three times to report the fast food "emergency." Latreasa Goodman, 27, last Saturday called police to complain that a cashier--citing a McDonald's all sales are final policy--would not give her a refund. When cops responded to the restaurant, Goodman told them, "This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one." Goodman noted, "I called 911 because I couldn't get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets," according to the below Fort Pierce Police Department report. That logic, however, did not keep cops from citing Goodman for misusing the 911 system. Even after being issued a misdemeanor citation, Goodman contended, "this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency."

stupid twit
Maybe someone could inform Latreasa that this is sort of, but not really like how tax and mortgage paying Americans are feeling. You give over your money and it’s gone. What choo wanted ain’t what you gonna get. Call the government all you want to complain and they’ll slap you with a ticket.
Some of these have been funny, but if you listen to the clips on this one, it seems appropriate to me. She went to a business, they took her order, they did not give her what they promised. That is a crime as I see it, fraud. You can not take someone’s money for a product and not deliver it. So she called the cops.
She does not sound like she thinks it is the most important call of the day. But what is one to do when someone commits a fraud against them? I think you call the cops. Maybe she should have called the regular number. Perhaps they would have asked her to come down and swear out a complaint. But 911 is pounded into the public’s brain, she call them after a crime was committed against her.
Call 911 wasn’t the right thing to do, but she has a point. McD’s is stealling from her if they sold her one thing and delivered another. If I went to McDs and gave them $1 and then reached behind the counter and took 3 big macs they’d call the cops on me and I’d be arrested. how is this any different?
NOTE: I didn’t read the entire article so I’m basing this on the blurb at the top.
Agreed, they should charge her for calling 911 for a non-emergency, and they should charge the McDonalds manager with theft for refusing to give her money back.
I have never had a fast food joint substitute on purpose without asking first. Forget stuff, yes. Charge too much, yes. Mix up my order with the last guy’s, yes. But they’ve never purposely substituted because they’re out of what I asked, and then told me to suck it up.
I have a feeling our Obamaniac isn’t telling the whole story. More likely they asked if she wanted to substitute and she was too busy gabbing on her cell phone to listen so she just said “Sure,” and didn’t know what was going on until she got her food.
Oh man...
Seems like a poor policy, no sale is ever final especially if you don’t give me what I paid for.
McDonolds food and customer service suck anyway.
Indeed. It is my policy to never refund black people as well.
“Well, why wouldnt they just give her the money back?”
I agree with you. I wouldn’t have called 911, but I would have McDonald’s mgmt on the phone, instantly.

“Indeed. It is my policy to never refund black people as well.”
Guess I should have put the /sarc tag on that.
What we need is for MgNugget Woman to encounter Dunkin Donut Guy (the one a few weeks back who slashed a customer’s tires because the customer got tired of waiting); then the feathers would fly.
LOL, my first thought, too!
People need to have HEFTY fines slapped on them for such asinine 911 calls. Something like $500 a pop ought to make people stop and think for a second or two.
Better yet, she should have called 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., the address of the White House.
I have a new answer for all the “charities” that call and ask for money. I tell them that Obama will take care of their need for funds since he has all the money now.
Another faithful democrat I’m sure....
You don’t call 911. You file a complaint elsewhere. Thee 911 system is for medical and other life or death situations. Suppose your child was choking and you called 911 but that line was busy or the response time was taking longer because of this call? Do you get it now?
She gave them the money, they wouldn't give her what she paid for and they wouldn't give her money back.
As far as I'm concerned it's a crime in progress on the part of McDonald's.
As far as calling 911, I have mixed feelings. What are you supposed to do when there is a crime in progress?
Under the circumstances, should one leave and go file a report so that when and if the police investigate at a later time the perps (McDonald's) can say they never saw the complainent before and any other witnesses are long gone? Or should one try and get the police there as soon as possible?
