Are at the beginning of a (lower case d)epression?
uh...we have dictator now. That’s one big difference.
You cannot ignore that the wired world will act different than anything that came before. The downturn will be much sharper than predicted because of that fact.
Was the last Depression world-wide or U.S. only? It seems to be world-wide this time.
When Iran launches a nuclear strile on Israel of Saudi, then that will put paid to all this foolishness.
Obama is the worst thing to have come down the political pike since Benedict Arnold, for our nation. And history shows that his own activity will lead to his destruction.
This one will probably be like the one that stretched from the Fall of the Roman Empire to the Crusades.
Our leader doesn’t have the stones to lead us in a war to get out of this Depression.
During the last depression, this county had its culture to hold it together. That is gone now. People pulled together during the last depression, crime actually dropped, and people returned to their Christian roots. The house squatters are a sign of what’s to come this time. Squatting will turn into rioting, and rioting into racist attacks on whites and well-to-do Americans. Look what is happening in Germany with the burning of cars. That type of class envy will take on a racial nature here. The hatred that 0 has turned towards bankers and businessmen will spread towards anyone who is doing well during the hard times.
this is like the depression that brought Hitler into power.
its our turn to suffer a HitBama I guess
We had several things still going for us in the 1930s:
1. We had stronger local communities of well rooted people.
2. We had a better sense of whom we were, now confused by politically correct responses, suppressing such awareness in the flood of 3rd World Immigration since 1965—some illegal, some subsidized by the Government.
3. We had stronger Faith involvement in dealing with local community problems, since undermined by a two generation plus ACLU attack on Faith in community affairs.
In short, our abilities to respond to hard, challenging times, have been undermined. This may be well and good, if you want sheep looking to an all powerful Central Government to solve every problem, but it is not the America won in the Revolution. Nor is it one that reflects anything that might be expected to really work well in the experience of Mankind.
We have Prozac now.

Thank you for posting this article: I think there is considerable credence in what the author has posted. A long protracted spiral death. Not the images of “Grapes of Wrath” nor of “Atlas Shrugged”; but, a different picture altogether.
Soup lines will be offering 7 options including clam chowder.
