President Obama's chief of staff said conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is the de facto leader of the Republican Party, and suggested that Limbaugh's desire for the president's policies to fail is the uniform position of the GOP.
Chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said Limbaugh is the "intellectual force" of the GOP and Republicans now have to live with that choice.
"He is the voice and the intellectual force and energy behind the Republican Party. And he has been up front about what he views, and hasn't stepped back from that, which is he hopes for failure. He said it. And I compliment him for his honesty, but that's their philosophy that is enunciated by Rush Limbaugh. And I think that's the wrong philosophy for America," Emanuel said on CBS' "Face the Nation."
On Saturday, Limbaugh gave an hour-and-a-half speech to cap off the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C. Limbaugh said it's fine for Republicans to criticize Obama's plans and Republicans must return to their core philosophies.
He added that Obama's plan won't restore prosperity and that's why he wants it to fail.

Agreed.
Oh my gosh....I agree with you 110% and more if possible! LOL The truth enables me to get through the day without my hackles in an uproar after the latest commie liberal lie!
He wasn’t political gold in 94 either. He was as polarizing then as he is now.
It shows you the power of IDEAs--just talking about the right ones with no power to force them on anyone is sooo much more powerful than the creeps with bad ideas and the power to force them on people. It's interesting that the creeps seem to understand it so well.
“Who will rid me of this meddlesome talk show host?”

*HIT THE BULL'S EYE* ...
Zer0Bambi, Is flailing around again.
Rahmbo is a pissed off little ballerina..
I think people are over analyzing this.
It’s not fear, it’s not hate, it’s 1984 and Rush is Emanuel Goldstein.
Rush is a convenient focus for the hate of the disaffected dims when things start to fall apart and the magic marxist falls flat on his face. He is already pointing to Limbaugh as the reason his attempt to create a socialist utopia has failed.
Communists always have an enemy to blame for their failures, bammy is no different.
Give ‘em he!!, Rush !!!!
Mega DITTOS!
But the democrats will use Rush as the face of the party, and I am not confident that Rush can discipline himself on radio to avoid a statement that can be used against us. He has done it in the past...Michael Fox, Donovan McNab, etc.
The best thing would be if someone in the party would make a good speech to detract from Rush. The absolute best thing would be if there were several speeches and events, to keep the democrats distracted with a moving target.
Keeping my fingers crossed, as I really don't think we have any good strategizers in the party right now.
Classical dialectic approach is why.
Thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Look for a “moderate” replaced to Rush to be floated soon.
This is the Alinsky Method again.
They think this is effective.
In addition to the fact this is an old Clinton strategy (going after Rush Limbaugh, conservative talk radio, and the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy), it distracts attention, taking media time away from criticism of Obama and his Big Government deficit spending, and focuses on Rush Limbaugh. They try to make Limbaugh the issue and then twist it into a new McCarthyism: "Do you agree now or have you ever agreed with Rush Limbaugh?"
They have done some type of internal polling within the liberal Democrat twilight zone and found that Limbaugh is a hot-button figure who rallies their troops.
If you go back to the 1990s the Clintonoids tried to blame the '95 Oklahoma City Bombing on conservative talk radio and Rush Limbaugh. This is a Rush Scare of liberal McCarthyism.
Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, etc. In this case it's Rush Limbaugh, and Rush said exactly that on his show today.
