Devon Generally to Challenge Arlen Specter for U.S. Senate
Free Press Release ^ | February 26, 2009 | By Devon Generally

Posted on 02/27/2009 10:04:05 AM PST by CrystalD

When Arlen Specter announced his support for the $800 Billion "stimulus" bill passed last week, he said it was because "something had to be done" and the wasteful, pork‐ and earmark‐full bill was "the best that we could do". Devon Generally knows that Arlen Specter is wrong about that. America has always done better, and with the right representation in Congress, we can do better again.

DevonGenerally

Mr. Generally wants to be a key part of that grassroots‐generated, can‐do type of Congress, and what better way to do that than by unseating a "Republican" that does not stand for fiscal responsibility and our conservative values?

Devon Generally is proud to announce his candidacy for the U.S. Senate representing the people of the great state of Pennsylvania. His election would unseat Mr. Specter, but more importantly it would show a return to core conservative principles and the kind of truly representative Republic that our founding fathers created.

A decorated veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Generally served aboard the U.S. nuclear submarine Key West, a first‐responder in Operation Enduring Freedom following the September 11 tragedy. During his service he received the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Award.

More on Devon Generally

Devon Generally graduated from high school in 1994 from Thornton Township High School in Harvey Ill. After working odd jobs such as a bus boy and a cook at Boston Market, he joined the US Navy in 1995. Devon joined the elite navy submarine force following in his father’s footsteps he was trained as a Sonar technician. Devon served two sea tours on the USS San Francisco SSN-711, where he earned the coveted “Silver Dolphins” and the USS Key West SSN-722 the vessel first to answer the call to duty after the tragic events of September 11th. Devon earned numerous awards and commendations and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his actions aboard the USS Key West SSN-722 during Operation Enduring Freedom. A true citizen legislator, he is currently employed by the Philadelphia Gas works as a Supervisor in Operations.

I’m concerned with what’s happening to the Republican Party. While any party will have some minor differences, some of our elected officials have strayed far from the wishes of conservatives. The questions then become what do conservatives need to do about the GOP? How do conservatives gain control of the GOP? The answer is simple: We take it.

The success of this party is not defined by winning it's defined by principle. If we water down conservatism, what's going to be the difference at the ballot box? We must draw a distinct difference between them and us. As conservatives we don't look for leadership in Wash Dc cause there is none. We must provide leadership. This is our country and we have to take it back. The vetting begins in our party.

I would vote for Stalin’s dead rotting corpse over Arlen Specter.

Is he generally going to challenge Spector? Or is it a specific challenge?

Generally speaking, the GOP needs to put up a stronger candidate than this to unseat the Scottish Lord.

From his website....

How do conservatives gain control of the GOP? The answer is simple: We take it.

He sounds scary, like he might have some principles or something. ;)

Don't assume that a person's location dictates that they hold to the dominant politics of the area. I live in liberal Orange CO., NC, and I'm probably the most conservative person on this thread.

My concern is that several good conservatives challenge Spector, split the vote, and Specter wins the GOP nomination again.

Hmmmm, I have my doubts. Just like Zero, you never know who you’re voting for until after they win.

> the GOP needs to put up a stronger candidate

What did you read or hear that leads you to conclude that Mr. Generally is not a strong-enough candidate??

Devon Generally graduated from high school in 1994(and) he is currently employed by the Philadelphia Gas works as a Supervisor in Operations.

Generally speaking, he's got less experience than the Messiah had when he ran for State Senate. We need someone with a longer resume to grab the seat from this elderly, fully horned, wealthily endowed RINO, IMO.

His background and views look good and I will support ANYBODY who runs against that piece of septic tank overflow Arlen Spector. I’d vote for a Demcorat to flush him out of office - and Devon looks like he FAR from a Democrat.

He’s got my support if theres no one else, but Toomey would be stronger, more credible. But such is life.
