Maybe a RINO and a Dem could split the liberal vote, and a conservative could win. (Assuming the RINO gets dumped by the party and runs as an independent....)

Rinos are loyal republicans. This never happens. More often than not, it is the sore loser "conservative" who bolts and runs as an independent. This is how Mary Kilroy-D beat Steve Stivers-R in Ohio's 15th district (Deb Pryce-R retired) in 2008.

I think the ONLY reason Bob Casey won over Rick Santorum is that he was able to convince the genetic Democrats in the western part of the State that he was just as pro-life as Santorum. It remains to be seen how he’ll vote, if it comes down to the wire on any votes furthering abortion rights. If he votes with That One and the rest of the Democrats, there is a HUGE opening for Santorum or Toomey to come back, and convince the voters that Casey can’t be trusted to vote against what the most pro-abortion President in the history of this nation wants to accomplish for his feminist supporters. They’ve already been notified in their Churches about the Freedom of Choice Act, and the Bishops will continue to hammer it home.

I’d like to see Rick run for president.

I think Steele knows Cavuto very well, as in they might be friends outside of work. Steele has been a Fox News Contributor for several years now.

RNC chair Michael Steele says he is "open to that baby" when it comes to supporting primary challengers against the three GOP senators who voted in favor of the stimulus package... Specter is the only one of the three up for re-elect in 2010. Steele said he is not going to fight the conservative wrath within each members states, proving that he really is the new sheriff in town.

I agree with you about Rick Santorum.

He’s telegenic and extremely well-spoken. I can easily picture him tearing Obama apart in a debate.

Having said that, Santorum is out of the Senate and doesn’t have a platform to get his ideas out. That, in itself, almost kills any possibility of a viable candidacy.
