I also hunt for the freezer. I have never shot a trophy buck, but wouldn't hesitate at the opportunity. In WI, many counties require taking an antlerless deer before you can take a buck. That may change after this Winter of Global Warming. The Winter kill could be bad this year.

I dress and process my own also. I’ve only hunted for the last six seasons, but each year I get better at processing and produce less and less waste.

Rem 7 mm Mag or Win 300 Mag...both give you great accuracy if ever looking 250+ yards, change to a heavier bullet if hunting in thick brush in either version.

Here in WV, you can even take a second antlered deer if you buy the tag. If you buy it, but don’t get one, it can be used for your first antlerless deer. State limit last season was four deer.

My wife does not like it when Rush uses the Boobus Americanus voice (the one with a lisp). She hates that and can't stand it. I'm not crazy about it but it won't make me change the channel.
