Oh...definitely for deer > 170 lbs...no little swamp tails for those rounds, not much left to eat......a 50 cal Hawkins (black powder sabot) is a great brush gun...just got to be a good hunter...ya only get one squeeze.
Recoil isn't all that bad...no worse than hi-brass #4 12 gauge on full / modified choke, no stock pad.
