That clip from Network could be abbreviated to “...and you will be like God...” pitched by the oldest snake oil salesman on earth.

Read Deut. 17:15 and 28:43.Actually, I'm more interested in Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 & 39 for the very near term. I don't expect to be around for the real gloom and DOOM of Deuteronomy, Daniel and Revelation.

Murdoch actually is a conservative by media standards....yes, he saw an opportunity but he did not become conservative by design.
He’s been one since his 20s.
He’s not perfect but he’s the only media baron we have and the left shivers at the thought of him.
His kid in Aussie is more righty but alas doesn’t seem the heir apparent.

Reagan would have let us take the natural medicine of a recession, while maintaining a steady faith in the ability of the American people to pull through if the government would just. get. out. of. the. way. Indeed. And yet even Reagan would've lost in a landslide in November to Obama, and meanwhile he'd have been savaged by Huckabee and the conservapurists who would've reminded everyone that 12 million babies were aborted during 1980-1988.

Mindful of the general malaise and fully cognizant of the depressed climate everywhere, The Sun will be assisting the transition to our brave new world and helping to lift spirits by printing tasteful pictures of topless babes on both pages 3 and 5 of all future issues. TCIWWP.

The son supposedly is a pretty good guy but his new Chinese second-wife has been pushing the kids away.

That was an absolutely brilliant movie and so entirely prescient for today’s times.

That kind of movie could only have come from a person who lived on both sides of the Iron Curtain, like Chayefsky.

I am right there with you. There were people who share my name in the Revolutionary War. There is a man with my name buried at Gettysburg. My uncles were in "the big one", my cousin in Viet Nam. There was a man with my same name in the Mexican American War. This is definitely "low tide" for our country. If it is going to be saved it needs to be done fairly soon but I fear it won't be. Here we stand and here we will fight and what hope of victory will have to be seen. God help us.

Interesting....I don’t see newspapers as being a viable business...as we currently understand them.

I think I want a DVD of the movie...is there one?

No way. Reagan would have made the communist label stick. And Reagan would have laughed at McPain, nicely, but he would have done him like he did Mondale.
