This report suggests that noise can actually kill you. Unbelievable!!!
I went into a Hollister Co. store with my daughters a few years ago. The music was so loud in there it was unnerving. I got out of there as soon as I could, but not before I told the people there that the volume if their music was uncomfortably loud. They said it was company policy to have it set at that level. I went home and wrote the company. I haven’t been in one of their stores since.
“Got her.
(I think she’s a loon.)”
That might be but the fact is that noise does create health problems.

Did you read the article on that blog?
If you did and in case you missed it, there was a reference to 'Exhaust Fan Noise'.
Well that happens to be part my professional specialty and not to get all technical, but by Code (even in SF) the 'noise' from a Commercial Exhaust Fan, AT MOST, is no louder than a normal speaking voice. And depending on what is being 'exhausted' and/or where the fan is located on a building roof - or installed on an exterior building wall - the fan will be even quieter.
Naturally, NOBODY would suggest sleeping, working, or standing next to a 747 Jet Engine 24/7/365 because that is just STOO-PID. Well, so are the whiny weenies who are moaning about this non-existent 'noise pollution' (cough) 'problem'.
[People need to use common sense.]
LOL!
“in case you missed it”
which you did. It may not be the level of the noise but the duration. I hate summer because the air conditioning noise drives me crazy. I hate winter because the furnace noise drives me crazy.
I’m not the only one as evidenced by other posts that have this problem.
Sure, noise can kill you. Especially if the noise is a train whistle and you’re standing on the tracks.
To right the countless wrongs of our day, we shine this light of true redemption, that this place may become as paradise. What a wonderful world such would be...for me to ZOT!
Drugs are the only thing keeping some people alive.
I have Meniere’s Disease. I’ve had one ear removed. I’m nearly deaf. Any noise that does get through makes me want to kill the source of the noise. It’s an incredible annoyance.
Imagine everyone around you sounding like Donald Duck on Speed.
Beta blockers keep me calm.
Lucky for you.
