Texas National Guard on ALert
Sodahead ^ | State Sen Dan Patrick

Posted on 02/22/2009 9:31:47 AM PST by djf

Texas State Senator, Dan Patrick, was on FoxNews this morning at 8:45am. He said he had some “breaking news to share”. Boy was it!!! The Texas State Legislature had been trying very hard to get the Obama Administration to respond to a critical situation on the Texas Border. The Administration had not gotten back with Texas as of last night. So the State of Texas told Washington D.C. basically they could go jump, and “we’ll take care of Texas!”. As of last night… the Texas National Guard has been put on High Alert!!! This is the first time in history! Texas tried, desperately to get Washington’s approval… but when they could not get it… they acted on their own. Which I say…. it’s about damn time!!! I personally applaud the guts it took to defy the Fed’s and act in our best interest! In case you are unaware of what the problems are …. Sen. Dan Patrick spelled it out nicely!

1) 100’s of PRO-DRUG CARTEL Mexicans were blocking the entrance to the United States, yesterday and today, banging cars, shouting and holding signs. 10 people were killed Wed. and 12 more yesterday at the border (5 of which were children!!!) 2) They aren’t sure … but they think the Drug Cartel is paying the demonstrators to do what they’re doing. 3) This will spill over into the States! Mr. Patrick, and the other State officials,. are convinced that road-side bombs and car bombs will make it across the border and WILL NOT allow that to happen!! 4) Mexico is breaking out in Civil War in the western part of the border and they expect it to spread the entire border with no end in sight. 5) The National Guard will be activated as the scenario worsens and is on Alert now and will remain so until (and IF) Washington does something to end the danger on the border (Yeah… like that’s gonna happen!).

FoxNews has yet to put this on their website which absolutely ticks me off!!!! I will post it IF they get the stones to do what’s right!

Let’s pray it doesn’t come to this…. but in reality… Texas could be in a Civil War (actually it would be an international incident) with Mexico very soon if this isn’t quelled. Just so you folks know…. the four Militia Groups that are here in Texas will be put on alert this evening. This has gotten REAL, REALLY FAST!

This is the highest monument in the USA - higher than the Washington Monument.

Yeah, its a shame they forgot to include the height on the star on the top when getting approval from washington dc, as the feds didn't want any monument higher than Washington's.

Good to hear Texas is finally stepping up....but I fear that pro-illegal/pro-NAU Governor Perry will try to stall and backpedal from this.

He won't have to. All he has to do is get Obama to nationalize the Guard and let the Feds take control (and probably do nothing). Eisenhower federalized the Guard in Arkansas during the desegregation crisis. That's why you see State Troopers at the schools - they are the States' next line of defense. At some point in the past, the govt suckered the States into trading off their local control in order for the Feds to pay the Guards' expenses. Some years back a Michigan governor raised Hell about his state troops being yanked out of country to handle a natural disaster in Guatemala. He was told, in so many words, "We're paying for them, so STFU."

From a 2002 article (emphasis mine):
Under Title 32, Guardsmen receive their pay and allowances from the federal government but remain in their assigned units and under their governor's command. They continue to train for other missions and are available to deploy with their units. Federalized Guardsmen, however, are no longer available to their units. In addition, Guardsmen serving under Title 32 do not fall under the Posse Comitatus Act, the 1878 law that prohibits the use of federal troops in law enforcement. Army Guardsmen began mobilizing in March for border patrol.

On top of all that, when Mexico implodes Big Time, there will be a tsunami of asylum seekers flooding the border. No doubt Obama, et al will welcome them with open arms during this "humanitarian crisis", along with information as to the location of the Democratic voter registration and welfare offices.

He is insane and his childish grudges showed with the Ice Storm of 2009.

And the media said nothing. NOTHING.

I remember CNN covering the ice storm of ‘98 in Eastern Canada, and they sure had no trouble covering Zeros visit to Haiti. (Canada).

He has invited our Governor General to Washington to discuss the plight of her homeland, Haiti. /retching

Yes, and rudely did not offer an invite to the Prime Minister.

Obama is determined to make enemies of our friends, and friends of our enemies. Except those won’t be real “friends” and we will be left with no allies.

I despise that man.

“Would he act against Texas, claiming Texas has no right or authority to defend itself?”
“I don’t think Texans would listen, if Zero said that.”

President Eisenhower demonstrated that all Zero has to do if he doesn’t like a Governor’s use of the National Guard: he issues an order nationalizing it. Presto, the Guard is under federal orders and subject to US Army rules, including courts-martial for disobeying orders.

And about those border ranchers who are ready to defend themselves, will they get the same treatment as the Arizona rancher, who has now been ruined financially for protecting himself and his property?

I think it would be much worse than that, frankly.

(I hate this too)

The civil war in Mexico is coming across the Texas border, and I expect Texans, who have good laws about self protection, btw, would protect themselves.

Texas wouldn't/couldn't prosecute the 5 million Texans that would/could arm the border.

They'd suceed before they allowed mass round ups of patriots.

What do you think Eaker and Allegra?

Thanks—I’ve been watching it unfold. Things are much worse along the border than most people realize.

What do you think Eaker and Allegra?

I have to get home and gauge the current "climate" before I can make an assessment. The last time I was in Texas, Bush was our president. I am in Kuwait on my way home for a break right now.

What do you think, y'all? Which was is the wind blowing? I'd sure like to get to the range with you during my brief break home. ;-)

Ramos and Compean were put in prison to write policy for the Border Patrol and to try to control us. To keep us from protecting ourselves from illegal alien criminals (primarily mexicans) who steal across our borders.

You can kill a white trespasser on your property no problem. A black one is dicey but an illegal alien criminal mexican national will get you thrown in jail.

Obama is just following the Bush policy for whatever reason.

If civil disobedience starts breaking out this could all go downhill very fast. If you haven't bought guns and ammo, get started now. If you haven't started stocking up on food and supplies, it's time to start planning. Here is a good website to get started: Emergency Supplies and Food

If you haven't gotthem yet, forget the web site: take a list and buy locally, cheaper.

Why take a chance on a sudden full scale revolution and invasion, coupled with a natural disaster keeping your order from reaching you in time!

With all due respect and deference to your service (and that of your forefathers), there are enough American patriots still breathing to take this country back.

I am as disappointed in those Americans who voted for the Marxist as you are, but I certainly do not consider their folly to be the death of the republic.

I would even argue that their folly will prove to be the starting point of our republic’s rebirth.

I was in Cali at that time, but I remember the lady democrat governor. Didn't know that the state legislature was also dem controlled at that time.

Now, how on earth does a mostly red state wind up with that situation?
