The Alaskan Independence Party

Wish my state had this :(

Can you imagine Alaska as independent state? They'd be wealthy because of all of their oil revenues, and I may be wrong on this, but they may have a higher percentage of people not looking to the government to solve their problems.

Not only do they have these things, they have a state government that places common sense above political expediency.

Consider the fact that under Governor Palin, the state has put away (that’s right) nearly a billion dollars. In addition to their $1,000,000,000 piggy bank, they have put nearly another billion dollars in an education fund.

Contrast conservative leadership in AK to liberal leadership in NY, MA, ME... or to RINO leadership in CA.

I think those of us that live in deep blue states, should movie to states like NH, Virginia, Colorado and try to salvage them. Take over state legislatures, call for a constitutional convention and outlaw the democrat party forever. Hopefully we can do this before President Obama declares martial law and sends conservatives to live on ice floats in the Bering Sea.

I was a member when I lived in Alaska. Some good people. A few nutbags, but mostly good, conservative people.

Secession may be the only avenue left for states to recover state’s rights.

But, but...........I thought Sarah Palin was a brain dead former beauty pagent girl. I thought her foreign policy experience was seeing Russia from Alaksa. I thought she was a bad mother because she didn’t tell her daughter about “s.e.x.”. Then she ended up with a daughter who got pregnant without a husband. Tsk.Tsk.

I thought Alaska was a small insignificant state, so that her being governor of such a state didn’t count as political/management experience.

I thought that the scandal with her wanting to fire some state trooper guy was the biggest scandal since Teapot Dome or Watergate, and thus disqualified her from seeking national office.

I thought that her having a special needs baby made her a bad mother. And how can such a mother with a baby be seeking high political office in the first place??????

I guess I was misinformed about what Sarah Palin has done as governor by the MSM.

And I thought the MSM was liberal, and wanted to push for women in high office. I thought women could have it all, family and career, yadda, yadda, yadda. I thought Sarah was great until the MSM informed me of all of the above.

Alaska has higher % of conservative/libitarian/populist makeup. I have switched back and forth my voter registration from Repub to AIP several times. Dang Repubs closed the primary due to many Repub voters going AIP in primary, crooked buggers. When Repub party gets too corrupt, (natural tendency up here) people vote AIP.

We are quite lucky to have Palin running the show; you can trust her judgement, she always does the right thing that benefits Alaskans the most. Still, she plays the game too but more honorable than most politicals.

When I first came here, in 95, I asked my 92 year old neighbor, staunch Repub, homesteaded his place in 1942; hadn't been outta country up here until 1997 how Alaska has channged? He said everybody is becomming dang Americans, more and more like them everyday. People were way more independent back then. He said Ak would have never became a state, would have remained like Peurto Rico and Philapines, if feds hadn't thrown statehood election by importing military people and changing voting regulations back then. Somehow,. I do believe him too.

Alaska will always be part of USA, we are just moving towards socialism at a slower pace up here.

Alaska is not about politics, its about the country & freedom you have with pristine wilderness and less government.

Well, if they become independent than their taxes go up. And no more federal handouts and no more dividend for Alaska Permanent Fund.

I think they are nuts.

>>>Can you imagine Alaska as independent state?

But what would folks do with all of their Palin 2012 stickers, since she couldn’t be president of a country of which she is not a citizen.

“I think they are nuts.”

I think Moscow would be very interested in an Alaskan independence movement.

My state's had about all the 'salvaging' it can take. There have been plenty of conservative men moving this way. Problem is, their less than conservative wives used to pampered liberal living, and brainwashed kids come along for the ride. To add injury to insult, they're hooked on cheap illegal alien laborers and drag plenty along for the ride.

Even the red parts of the state are starting to go purplish. Wouldn't it be better if they stayed put and swept their own houses clean?

All intelligent, clear-thinking people are looking for a safe haven in which to escape the Decadence that has infected Western Civilization (note tagline) like the Black Plague, only far more deadly.

Alaska will just tax their oil for the other 49. Won’t cost the Alaskans one cent.

Go Sarah!!!

Either the immune sytem wins, or the host dies. Why do I have the sinking feeling that US current events are playing out like the last 100 years of French history in fast-forward?

I have to associate with so many BO supporters daily, and they still bash Palin. Not McCain. Palin.
