Last night the Hannity Show said that the dems are discussing a new MILEAGE TAX on how many miles we drive.

I’m missing something.
How is that different from reading the odometer.

Any update on Oregon’s “experiment” with invasive taxation?
bttt
Probably the way Oregon had planned, so here is article to explain that:

next thing they’ll cap the amount of miles, and tax us double if exceeded. anything’s possible with this rogue liberal atmosphere.
And by time of day, and by which road you choose, and by number of occupants, and on and on. They will have a detailed record of when and where you drive your car -- incredible and unnecessary invasion of privacy.
And now they want us all to conform to their standards.
So, we’re going to be punished for having a house far from where my husband works? I’d gladly sell the thing except that prices have fallen so much, we’d have to pay money to get rid of it.
So this excessive tax will have an unintended consequence - we’d go ahead and foreclose on it and move closer to work. How does that help Obama’s housing plan? /s
It answers my questions.
Ask the politicians. Yes they can read mileage from odometer, so why would they really want to put GPS's in our cars? They say it's for mileage, but that's BS we'll find out soon as these trackers are live.

I actually hope they pass the bill. It would guarantee us a GOP House in 2010.
They will NOT connect or mount any device to either of my two '68 numbers-matching cars. They can not keep me from disconnecting them in my newer vehicles. I already disconnected one in my '07 that GM/Onstar put in it.
Who drives one-fourth of a mile? I guess 4 cents sounded like too much, so they think this will go over better with the people. Keep it up, Dems. Everything you do just makes us loathe you more.
“Now this is a punishment of conservatives, because if you look at the voting map the RED STATES are more rural, and the BLUE STATES are more larger cities and closer together.”
Absolutely.
It is also anti rural and pro city. What do they plan on eating once they get rid of all the farms and those who work on them.
This plan might work for small countries in Europe which are the size of our States, but it sure doesn’t fit the sprawling greatness of the US of A.
As a commuter, driving 100 miles a day to work, it will be cold day in hell before I pay a mileage tax! I already pay a lot to drive to work. No taxation without representation!
