This is being proposed here in Oregon. Each and every (private) vehicle will have a GPS system installed. They will know where you go, when you go, how far you go and how long you stay. No mention of Public Transportation, Governors, False Prophets, Senators, and Congressmens vehicles. It is is out and out wrong!! Practice your Curtseys folks!!!! & JUST SAY NO

Oh, my! Some blonde pundit named Nancy on Neil's biz show just compared Boy President to Sully...Barry's stimulus bill is like Sully landing that plane. Neil said—I knew Sully. Sully is a friend of mine. etc. She is calling bailouts “restructuring.” Neil just said she is back to taking bad medication. They are all ganging up on her--it's a riot.

His arrogance has yet to go visit the troops, and as Commander in Chief that was what Bush did first after being inaugerated. The big “O” had an interview on Al Jazeera, a visit to Canada, and some other socialist/marxist interests.

I was once part of the hand-wringing, worried about what the government is proposing to do instead of what they are actually doing crowd. <<<<<<<
I think you’d agree that they key to coming back to reality is to recognize that “the government” doesn’t do much of what people think it might do (e.g., “FICA warrantless wiretaps”) because in many cases it is impossible in reality to actually implement and execute in the real world what’s being asserted that government “can do” or “does do”.

“Youre ignoring absolutely everything Ive said about the impossibility of building the infrastructure to support this ludicrous dream.
Once again: the supporting infrastructure cannot be built.
And no supporting infrastructure = no GPS/mileage tax.
How much simpler does it need to be stated to you?”
And why should we take your word for this? What are your qualifications to make such a sweeping definitive statement?
To: CharacterCounts
>>>>>> I don’t know? Could you be a little more condescending? <<<<<<
This entire thread is about the implementation of a new kind of tax through a purely technical process and infrastructure.
Yet you think it’s all “political”!?!?!
Who’s being condescending?

Whos being condescending?Even a dimwit such as myself can figure that one out. You have been lecturing everyone since the start of this thread. If you want polite discourse continue on. If you just want to imply that everyone but you is stupid, apply for a position at the Whitehouse, if you are not already employed there

It makes me wonder how the troop morale is, and how the officers are keeping up their spirits in this atmosphere of arrogance. When I was younger I was a USNR for many years,...so my concern is always the troops.

There is so much new technology it’s scary. I watched a show the other day on “a bionic hand”, which the man could control with his mind. They took the bionic hand to a different country, and he could control that hand with his mind from where he was. So don’t let anyone tell you they couldn’t make the technology to know what’s on your odometer combined with your position at all times, and may already have it..

To use his mind to operate the “bionic hand” took the implementation of a “chip”, but it worked.

Oh, you definitely should not.
Ask your elected representatives, they’ll be happy to explain to you how it all works and how it’ll be built by next year and for less than one billion dollars.
Heh.

I Guarantee you that someone would figure out either how to spoof the signal, or leave the GPS at home while driving. Easy enough. Remove the real GPS and replace it with a fake one. End of story!

There has to be groups in Oregon that could get a ballot initiative going to stop the plans dead in its tracks. Now is the time to do it before it’s too late.

To your point in #34. You bet the deep well meters are coming. In western PA (where I live), recently a new sewage system was put in. Where we live, EVERYONE ha a couple acres of land, if not more. Plus, we live in the heart of a farming area. If were in a development, I could completely understand, but our per capita simply does not support the need for sewage. On top of that, we were FORCED by the state to pay tap in fees ($6200.00 per household). Originally, if you did not pay, a lien would be levied against your home. That turned into subpoenas and some folks have to literally take a second on their homes or they would have been forced to sell to pay the tap in fee (shit you not!).
So, little ol me pays the tap in fee and I figured that would be the end of it (I have not tapped in, my septic is only seven years old). Nope, they (the sewage authority) is trying to make me pay for 14 months of usage; even though I AM NOT TIED INTO THE SYSTEM!
We have heard rumblings about "water lines" coming through our area next. I suspect many will not tie in after the sewage fiasco and that is how they will try and get us with well meters.

The natives out here are getting restless. I can hear the drums. Those drums are usually pounded around fires too.
They are just BEGGING for an ass whipping! And they will get one.
