Tell me WHO is going to leave their 4th of July family barbeque party and local fireworks before the dinner hour to drive into a restless city from the 'burbs or anywhere else on the night of the holiday?

Rick is nuts to schedule the Tea Party for one of the most oddball times and dates I've ever seen in my 1000 years of activism.

This is serious stuff....but your reply is a little flippant, nothing personal intended.

Well, I WILL GO—actually lots of folks do travel infrom the burbs to see fireworks, Taste of Chicago, etc. There are fireworks on both July 3 and July 4. I did not know if he has actually picked July 4—or is saying July 4 weekend. Of course, he picked it because of the symbolic nature of the day. Tho I I don’t have 1000 years of activism, I don’t think he is nuts, and if people really care, they will go. It could get a lot of media exposure and be an educational experience for the onlookers as well.
Can’t think of better way to spend the day—go downtown, do the Taste, Tea Party and stay for fireworks with like-minded citizens. Just sayin...
