...No matter how big a tent the Republicans need to pitch, they still need to stand for core values — and among them should be fiscal responsibility and smaller government for greater individual liberty. Porkulus fails on both counts...

"Specter is up first I believe."

Good. Of the three RINO turncoats, this pompous jackass pisses me off the most. As soon as there is a primary opponent, I will be sending donations. It will be a pleasure.

“They should have stood for that same core value when there was a republican in the Whitehouse”

The same RINOs who stabbed us in the back this week were the RINOs who were the ‘balance of power’ in the Senate in previous years. 90% of Republicans wanted to make tax cuts permanent, but they stopped it.

They are the Democrats best secret weapon. They advance liberalism while ruining the GOP brand at the same time.

“This is why I believe that RNC Chair needs to expel the three of them from the party. If the GOP wants to prove that it has returned to its conservative roots, they need to bounce Collins Spectre and Snowe-job out of the party. Otherwise, what’s the point?”

Probably the best we can do is a censure resolution from RNC committee.

“The problem is that the Republican elephant stampedes left as soon as some twittering liberal mouse (or rat if you prefer) arrives with accusations of not being politically correct.”

This is an overbroad and false generalization. I havent seen this happen.

The NRSC should publicly resolve NOW to cut off all National Campaign funding to these three RINOS, even if their elections are 1, 3, and 5 years away.

Do you really believe that? I'm truly astounded.

The Republican party has been cowed for years by liberal political correctness. Whenever some issue comes up, like gay rights, AIDS, abortion, you name it, they bend over backwards in order to prove they aren't 'mean ol conservatives.'

Yes. The formula seems to be: A Dem accuses a Pub of doing or saying something non-PC, the media shouts it to the rooftops, the Republican says,"I'm Sorry....I'm Soooo Sorry. Please forgive me, etc."

Disgusting.

IIRC, these same 3 RINOs also were the ones who voted against impeaching Clintoooon.

Not good enough. The RNC chair needs to boot their boots out of the party, nothing less. If their constituents voted for 'Pubbies and now have either Independents oe Dems, then the constituents get to make the final decision if they keep their jobs.

But, the RNC chair has to have the ability to maintain discipline within the party to ensure that the party represents a standardized core of conservative values.

Merely censuring them is only slap in the face of Republicans, NOT a slap on Collins', Spectre's and Snowe's wrists.

Why hasn’t national funding been officially and permanently cut off for those 3 idiots?

What the hell are we waiting for?

When we sit around while RINOs destroy our party, then give them campaign money, we’re ENCOURAGING more RINOs to pull the same crap.

Does anyone believe 3 democrats would EVER go against their party and vote for a high-profile Republican bill? Of course not, b/c they KNOW they’d get booted 5 minutes later.

If republicans are stupid enough to keep supporting RINOs in any way, then republicans deserve to lose.

Who in the GOP been cowed on abortion? Not most of them.
Being prolife is a bulwark of the GOP platform.
As for ‘gay rights’, I would want them to have no more and no less rights than others, but why use their verbiage when its not really about ‘rights’ any more. We need to do the compassionate thing for kids and defend traditional marriage. If in the process you prove you are not mean, so be it. Its how we win arguments.

Conservatives as a whole are not mean-spirited so I would hope and expect them not to let that label stick, by advancing their viewpoints in ways to deflect such bogus criticism. that’s not being ‘cowed’.

But to careful readers the deeper theme of the Republic is the nature of education and the relationship between education and the survival of the state.

This is from another article I read today, 'How Democracies Become Tyrannies' (sorry, not the best with links).

Liberals have controlled education for decades. They control the mass media, which in it's most recent manifestation has Joseph Goebbels smiling in his grave. Barack Obama was not elected; he was coronated by that same mass media and education system that spawned him.

Children today are bombarded with images which are well beyond their age. Miley Cyrus in some blanket. I saw a Boy Scout troop some time ago on local TV paying homage to Obama. They may as well have included a Nazi blood flag. Around election time, Nickolodean was running all sorts of thinly veiled pro-Obama ads.

I'm waiting for a video game about the guy for crying out loud. Play as Obama; take on the Bill of Rights and level up with commie points as you destroy each one. After that, it's the rest of the Constitution, baby.

(Whew!)...Anyway, you get the idea. Children are submerged in this. They aren't taught anything other than to play follow the fuhrer.

The so-called Republicans we vote for are supposed to vote for our interests. They act cowardly.

For all I care the "Big Tent" Party can burn to the ground. Perhaps some worthwhile phoenix will arise out of those ashes.

We keep our kids off of Nickelodeon for that reason.
Conservatives need to simply boycott any and all liberal media. Dont watch movies or ANY product of the liberal complex. Keep kids out of liberal colleges.

In other words - DONT FEED THE BEAST.

“The so-called Republicans we vote for are supposed to vote for our interests. They act cowardly.”

For the most part, they do. But they are politicians not magicians.

“For all I care the “Big Tent” Party can burn to the ground.”

Nothing better will replace it. the parties cater to the people and when the people have lost their will to be self-reliant, you get the socialist mentality triumphing in elections.
At the same time, the media sells the people a bill of goods.

Until election time. It slides to the background. Like everything else. It's trite, but they want to have the cake and eat it too. Big Tent politics on demand.

Wrong.
The most prolife President we had was G W Bush. Latest issue of right-to-life News from NRTL has a two page spread thanking President Bush for all that he did.

Alas, many things will be undone by obama. but that only proves the big difference between the two.

Lots of good prolife actions here in Texas with a Republican majority. you need to give credit where its due or the good actions dont happen.

If you dont have prolife advances, blame the proabort activists.

I realize one thing why the liberals are winning: THEY ARE FOCUSSED ON WINNING. They arent whining about why Obama wont give them 100% of what they want, eg on Iraq.

We are focussed on whining and wringing our hands. Only when we get out of that attitude and into an attitude of how to make things better will we win.

He has not such power as others have noted.

“If their constituents voted for ‘Pubbies and now have either Independents oe Dems, then the constituents get to make the final decision if they keep their jobs.”

Yes. Fix it in the primary. The plain fact is that the party has no power to ‘unelect’ elected Snowe, Collins, and Spectre. We should have primaried Spectre in 2004, but we missed by a few thousand votes when Toomey tried.

“But, the RNC chair has to have the ability to maintain discipline within the party to ensure that the party represents a standardized core of conservative values.”

The censure does that.

“Merely censuring them is only slap in the face of Republicans, NOT a slap on Collins’, Spectre’s and Snowe’s wrists.”
That’s not so.
