Chavez has spent a tumultuous decade in power channeling tremendous oil wealth into combating gaping social inequality.

Oh really, AP? Is that what he's been doing? "Combating social inequality"?

Go **** yourselves, you lying sacks of ****.

We can only hope that “Hogo” does something much more stupid than usual, which leads to an acute case of lead poisoning!

>>With crude oil below $40 he’s going to have to ask his congress for a STIMULUS.<<

Hell, the way things are going, OUR congress may give him one. :(

I just can't believe the LUCK of that man. Surely the odds of chavez winning an "election" where his people controls the vote counting are astronomical.

The peanut farmer/hammer monkey needs to go put his credibility on the line to certify this election was valid.

bammy could learn a lot from this man on building consensus and reaching out to the opposition...

Do I have to actually note this is sarcasm?

Of course. You suppose Jimmy Carter was there to certify the election for the U.N.? /sarc This election was probably as clean as Mugabe’s.

And up in the US, the President tries to add a new House seat in DC and run the process of determining House districts from Washington.

On another front, ACORN gets 4 billion dollars.

How does Chavez DO it every election?

Chavez lost this vote just a couple months ago..

Keep on voting and "keep on counting" the votes until you win.

Same here. The economy, the spread of totalitarian regimes, new international pissing contests being set off everyday, the spread of antisemitism, convoluted treaties and international agreements that are pretty much meaningless, etc. It’s as if we are replaying the 1930s all over again.

I get a strange feeling we are on our way to a new World War.Too many things are starting to sound like history repeating itself.

Me too. The world is coming unscrewed. Having this ignorant stumblebum at the helm does not inspire hope or confidence.
