Vitamin B6 works with enzymes that break down histamine, improves tolerance of histamine, and decresease the number of histamine-caused headaches. Vitamin B6 has been shown to increase the intracellular accumulation of magnesium. Vitamin B6 is also helpful with hormonal headaches—those that come on with the menstrual cycle.
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine is part of the B group vitamins and is water-soluble and is required for both mental and physical health.
Pyridoxine is required for the balancing of hormonal changes in women as well as assisting the immune system and the growth of new cells. It is also used in the processing and metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, while assisting with controlling your mood as well as your behavior. Pyridoxine might also be of benefit for children with learning difficulties, as well as assisting in the prevention of dandruff, eczema and psoriasis.
It assists in the balancing of sodium and potassium as well promotes red blood cell production. It is further involved in the nucleic acids RNA as well as DNA. It is further linked to cancer immunity and fights the formation of the toxic chemical homocysteine, which is detrimental to the heart muscle.
Women in particular may suffer from pre-menstrual fluid retention, severe period pains, emotional PMS symptoms, premenstrual acne and nausea in early pregnancy. Mood swings, depression as well as loss of sexual drive is sometimes noted when pyridoxine is in short supply and the person is on hormone replacement therapy or on birth control pills.

Anybody on a very high protein diet, using alcohol, or allergic to MSG (mono sodium glutamate) and/or tartrazine may also consider increasing their vitamin B6 intake.

I may be wrong, but my take on it is that the product most used in food preparations, and medicines are pyridoxine.
That’s not to say that there aren’t any other forms of B6 available in the retail or hospital pharmacies. New items are coming along all the time.
Still, I have spent 35 years in pharmacy, and the vast majority of vitamin B6 used there, in tablet and injectable forms, have been referred to as pyridoxine.
Won’t be long before the FDA tries to say water is a chemical and therefore a drug and therefore regulated.

I remember now that it had to do with blood disorders ... people were taking it for anti-depression and sleep problems. They were taking too much per day ... I think about ten people died ....

As a technicality, it seems BioStratum is investigating pyridoxamine (as opposed to pyridoxine) for a particular intended use. Their high-priced lawyers are evidently saying others who wish to market pyridoxamine for that intended use can take a hike....to Leavenworth.
Really sucks evil how they use the example of the stupid to regulate the rest of us.

Btw. I like the liquid in a dropper bottle our local Supermarket chain has.
They also have an excellent line of herbs.
Check yours you might find it's really good quality and cheaper than most others.
Not sure if they are so interested in dumbing down America, they can leave that to the I-pod folks.
But this would cause a major shake in the supplement industry, with companies having to reformulate, and probably have some new testing procedures, etc.
The FDA is OWNED by big Pharma and HATES the supplement industry.
