How many republicans are there in the House and Senate? How many voted for this bill COMBINED? Is this the bipartisanship that 0bama talked of?

Sue Rae, et al...the 800B bill has been passed by the US Destructor (Obama and his ilk). Does each item have to be voted on before they spend it or do they have carte blanch?

Let’s be sure about our posts and let’s not knee jerk on this...thanks!

Bush - 2008 stimulus cost $152 Billion, it put $1500 in our household budget.
Obama - 2009 stimulus cost $800ish Billion, it will put $800 in our household budget.
So for 5 times as much we’ll get a little more than half as much... WC Field’s was right: A sucker is born every minute... so much for hope n change!

Going by the vote numbers, I think 176 Repubs in the House voted against and somebody said one voted “present”. That would be 177 (7 Dems voted no = 176+7 = 183 against) Republicans.

In the Senate 38 Republicans voted against with 3 voting for. Total
Republicans by those voting, whether yea or nay = 41.

177+41 = 218

Out of 218, 3 voted with the Dems.

Anybody have better information?

If they stuffed HR 45 in the Porkulus pig, they are all traitors. They will have taken the second amendment without any public disclosure of their dirty deed. Someone please tell me they didn’t hide a gun grabber bill in those thousand pages...

They only did it because they had nothing to lose. The GOP is as spineless as ever. Big whoop...they stood up when they knew they would lose. More grandstanding from a bunch of worthless losers who got us in the mess we are in today with their poor leadership.

We had it all...white house, congress, senate...they let the minority own them with absolutely no fight. This is all about 2010 election ads and nothing else.

No doubt they are betting on a natural recovery sometime in the next four years, that they can then credit for.

However, the short sighted strategy of this bill is so flawed it will prolong things. The market is already discounting for this, AND for what every one knows is coming next.

They are setting up for a restructured personal tax rate of 50% or more, like in Europe. And, as in Europe, many will soon figure out that it does not pay to work. We will soon have permenant unemployment rates of 12% or more.

They will then change how the unemployed are counted, to drive the statistic down in time for re-election.

They are giving refundable credits to non tax payers. If you pay taxes then they are letting you keep 7 dollars a week of your own money. I get irritated thinking about it. I hate to go to foxnews.com cause I’m sick of seeing that jerks face and name.
